Tokyo Express — Restaurant in Edmonton

I dont know what is going on with this particular location but the restaurant itself inside is pretty rough looking. It seems to be depleting at a fast rate. Most seating has been removed as well as the TV’s, no music. It’s a dying atmosphere and is not comfortable at all. It took over an hour to receive our order of 2 pops, 2 makis and a salmon combo. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Explain that!?! Prior times I’ve had hair wrapped up in the rolls and the staff said it wasn’t theirs. Hard to believe it came from one of us with a different color of hair wrapped up in the rice. I’ve had items missed from the orders and had to drive back and was denied the missing items. Daily special pricing you don’t get unless you ask for the daily price on that item. Plus the hours are all over the place and are not consistent or consistent with all the other restaurants.

They don't understand English! I ordered miso soup& rice. They produced udon noodle soup! I reordorded & got miso with small rice. The rice was only warm,lower than 120 degrees..( yes...I carry a thermometer...chef remember?) Great for bacteria!!Then came a bowl of miso for my wife. She didn't order any. She received her fried vegies as ordered. The batter was not tempura but more consistant with pancake batter. The water served was room temp. The first table was dirty with soy sauce, & the next did not seem cleaned properly (10% bleach & water solution ). I think they should try another business. This place is terrible!👎👎. I have been going to Tokyo Express for years at the 170 st location then i closed and had to now go to the 149 st. location. When i first started coming to this location things seemed to be pretty close to what the 170 st. location served. The last while though...things have gone downhill. I always get a Bento A with Chicken. The sauce seems different that it used to and is spread all over the vegetables on the side...but that isn't too bad...i can live with that. My big disappointment is the tempura...not sure what they did but the batter is a doughy soggy batter that just doesn't taste good and is not a light crispy result that it used to be. The dipping sauce is super dark now and tastes off. Sushi typically has 2 different kinds...now just 1. Last 2 times have been disappointing...unless they change things i...
