Good food, good prices, very friendly staff. Only open 3 weeks as of January 19 2019, they're still experiencing some minor bumps (table assignments), but all rectified very quickly.
The physical space is small with only a handful of seats, but it is very clean and well lit. Washrooms were clean, well kept and stocked. The signage above and behind the till is clear and bright, with prices and pictures laid out in a sensible format (appetizers, rolls, combos, Bento boxes, etc). You order and pay at the counter, and then the food is delivered to the table.
Menu has a decent selection of common favorites, and the prices are quite reasonable. Our table had a couple of big plates of roll combos, some pan fried dumplings, and a big bowl of udon, and the bill came to just over $40. Worth noting, the food came out very, very quickly, so we had very little idle time.
Food quality was quite good, and portion size was good given the price. The large sized rolls were very big, (much more than a mouthful, probably 3 bites), but held together well so properly assembled. Dumplings were crispy on one side, and had a really nice, noticeable ginger flavour.
Overall an excellent experience and would not hesitate...
Read moreCame in for a "non fast food lunch" and had the Salmon Bento with Option A (California rolls and tempura). Salmon was nice, and a bit juicier than I am accustomed to. Pretty sure it was cooked enough, but I prefer it a little drier. Batter was a nice golden crispy color and that part was it's redemption. Tempura was a bit darker than typical - it was dry, light and crispy with no excessive grease. The veggies were a bit on the "el-dente" side but I would not call them undercooked. Over-all, the food is a solid four which is a high ranking for a restaurant of this type. The owner (seemed to be the owner) told the staff not to put my order behind the call-in which had a delivery driver en-route. HUGE props for this. SO sick of places that have a "takeaway orders have priority" policy at the expense of dine-in customers. Overall, the service here is a five. So 4 for the food + 5 for service is a 4.5 that rounds up to a 5. Well done. See you...
Read moreSo many great reviews on this lil shop. I decided I had to go and try the best Poke Bowl in the city. I was disappointed in the bowl, but that could have simply been personal preference. It was too “crumby” and carby for me (which took all the “freshness” away from the bowl. I asked for Both sauces to try them and both were underwhelming. I’m sure the flavors just got soaked up by the 1/4 to 1/2 cup of crumbs on top. I ordered edemame and gyoza also. It was 4:30 when I ordered it, as you can see, I think the edamame may have been left over from the lunch rush, and cost over 5 dollars for what you see here. I hesitate to write this review, and again state that a lot of my disappointment may be personal preference, because the service was delightful. But, I, personally, would not drive across town for...
