Check your bills!!

We coincidentally arrived at the beginning of Happy Hour on a Sunday. Great. We asked the server if all cocktails were $2 off and she said she would ask someone cuz she wasn't sure. She was probably new. We heard another lady tell her "umm.. sure, give it to them". Great. We ordered a few cocktails and snacks since they were a great deal.

Everything came out nice and timely, especially since noone was there. For the most part everything was good. When we left, my husband and I started discussing how much food was. We looked online and noticed what the prices were. Apparently we were charged full price for everything, all of the happy hour items as well as a cocktails we were told would be discounted. We called them and let the lady know that we were just there and never got the deal. To our surprise, the lady gave us a very sassy "No, the price is what the price is. We discounted your food." So we hung up and checked the prices on the website again since maybe we were mistaken.

We called back once more and spoke to another lady to confirm what the prices of the food were and what the prices should've been during Happy Hour and when we realized that we were in fact charged full price for everything, we let her know we just talked to someone else who told us we got the deal when we tried to tell her we didn't. (We're pretty sure the first lady was our server) The goal was to simply notify them - we were explicit in saying we didn't care to come back for a refund. The first lady was very stubborn and didn't want to be told about her error or care to even look into it.

This second lady we were now speaking to said that their system is supposed to automatically have the right amount but might be wrong because they didn't used to include Happy Hour on Sundays and so she will make sure to check as well as tell the other lady. Wow. There you have it - we were correct all along.

Moral of the story... Check your bills, people. They probably ripped people off all day on that day if you didn't catch it. As for Wilfred - check your till prices, and your attitude.

Despite this whole situation, we have already been back to Wilfred's for coffees. Sure we will continue to recommend this place, but not without telling...

This was our first time getting brunch here, and I didn't realize that this place was pretty much attached to Made by Marcus! So I've been inside (on the Made by Marcus side) but didn't realize that there were tables in the back for Wilfred's. I really like how they combined that space for both establishments, that was pretty smart.

We met with friends and slid into one of the comfy booths in the back. I really liked the colors and style of Wilfred's seating area. It felt cozy, homey, it had such an overall cool vibe.

I got an Iced Matcha Lavender Latte with oat milk. It was delicious, perfectly sweet from the lavender syrup and the oat milk was creamy. Matcha was earthy and the drink's components complemented each other very well. I absolutely loved my drink.

My boyfriend got the Chicken and Waffles (with a side salad) and I ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich which came with a side of fries. I liked my chicken sandwich, I chose mild because I wanted to experience all the flavors incorporated in the dish. Chicken was good, pickles were the cherry on top for me (though I wish they added a little bit more), but for me the stars of the show were the sauces. The Thai Basil Mayo and the Hot Honey Glaze complemented the chicken so well. It was creamy, mayo was light, and the hot honey gave that hint of sweetness and spice.

For the Chicken and Waffles, the chicken was good but the waffles were okay. My boyfriend was left disappointed by it. We expected crispy outside and light and fluffy interior, but it was dense throughout the whole waffle. He said it tasted like it was an old reheated waffle.

I liked the Hot Chicken Sandwich but I don't think I'd pay $20 for it. It was good, but I'm not sure if it's $20 good. But the service was great. Our server was attentive, friendly, and was also willing to remake a drink if it wasn't what we expected. She was very sweet. Also on our receipt we got 15% off an ice cream scoop from Made by Marcus. We had a good experience and enjoyed...

I have never had such a horrible experience at a Restaurant before. For the price that they’re charging they don’t have servers that come to your table to take your order. When we first entered the place we asked to be put on a list for a table. They said “if you find a table so just go to which ever frees up.” So once a table was open. We went to it and one of the servers said “oh these people have been waiting longer, you should put your name down on a list” So we talked to the girl who should of put our name down and she said “I’ll make sure you get the next table.” Another table frees up and new people came in and took the table that was promised to us. We were just stunned. We decided to just deal with the baby ice cream table we had. The server that took our order at the till does not have any customer service skills whats so ever. We approached her and she didn’t greet us. We asked if this is where we order she said yes. I ordered something and didn’t get a response saying she heard me or understood me or asked if that’s it. I told her that’s it and I would like to pay. My friend also ordered after me. She just stared blankly. No customer service skills what so ever. Another one of my friends wanted to order the lunch/dinner menu at 1:56pm. Brunch was until 2pm. She said she couldn’t process that menu. We asked if she could put the order in in 4 minutes. She told us that it would confuse the staff and that we should order from brunch menu. When she brought our food to our table she says “oh wow this table is really small hey?” Literally felt like a slap in the face with the seating already. This is all customer service now let’s talk food. I seriously thought I had Covid. And all of my friends all thought we had Lost our sense of smell and taste. There was no flavour to any one of the items we ordered. I’ve never had anything so bland. I never write reviews but I will never come back to this place. We spent a good chunk of money between the 4 of us including...

I am partial to a restaurant that has the same first name as me for starters. When I saw that there was a restaurant named after me I knew I had to go. Okay I know that the restaurant was named after one of the owners father but you know its not the most common name out there. The restaurant is located in the Brewery District and is an original brick building that has been renovated into a restaurant. We were greeted right away and told we had to wait about 30 minutes Caveat we came during lunch time and it was very busy and we did not make a reservation, so waited but only about 15 minutes but I would suggest to make reservations to avoid a wait. We were seated and had a great time. The menu is unique and eclectic. The restaurant is very nice and interestingly decorated with Babar mural. You gotta see it to believe it. Anyways I diverge, we ordered and in a short time we had our food and it was excellent, it was tasty and served hot. Our server was friendly and courteous. There was 4 of us and we all had something different and we all enjoyed our food. Overall it was a great experience. I will definitely recommend this restaurant and will return. You will see from the pictures what we ate and the ambiance of the restaurant was great also.
