Harvey's — Restaurant in Essa

Yesterday afternoon, my partner and I decided to stop by for a quick bite. We were slowly approached (someone had to tell this lady to come help us), not greeted, by a lady with quite a miserable demeanour which whatever, maybe she wasn’t having a good day. That’s fine. However, when I ordered just a bacon and cheese angus, I noticed that it was a cheese burger when she put it on the counter. After speaking up about it she immediately got defensive and had a “you’re wrong, i’m right” attitude about it, which stunned me, expecting customer service-like response but instead was spoken to with such discourteous. After she had charged me the extra $2 for the bacon, with her attitude and the way my food was then handled turned me off from proceeding any further. I then asked for a refund, she instantly got defensive again before turning around to the other lady in the kitchen saying that I wanted a refund and was having a fit. Which was a blatant lie, I just asked for a refund, simple. After my partner and I called her out for her uncalled for behaviour and unsolicited comments, she began to start a one sided argument with us on her behalf before muttering under her breath and disappearing into the back. Leaving my partner and I completely baffled by how she acted. That whole encounter was unprofessional and uncalled for especially when your job is customer service. The other lady however, gave me the refund without hassle and we thanked her before leaving. That other lady though… definitely needs to be spoken to regarding her unprofessional behaviour and learn how to speak and handle...

We went into the restaurant on July 3rd around 6:20pm. We had to wait roughly 10 minutes for our order to be taken. While waiting for our food to be made we found a mediocre clean table to sit at, none of the tables in the restaurant were very clean and a few had dead bugs on them. Our food was slowly being prepared, 1 item every 8 or so minutes. We then noticed when our chicken burger was made and packaged, the next item put on the hot plate was another chicken burger, which wasn't needed at that point. Again with a poutine, the employees in the back were not paying attention and not communicating about what was being made. A lot of businesses complain that they are short staffed, which we would understand, if we didn't see 6 employees standing around in the back not helping. Several were walking around waiting for a Swiss Chalet order to come through while they watched the Harvey's side sink. The young blonde student at the front was taking orders as well as preparing food when it was ready. As the orders and customers piled up the food still wasn't being prepared fast enough. If it wasn't for the one guy at the front nothing would I've been completed tonight. As we were leaving (around 7:30pm) we seen the only useful guy working tonight cleaning the bathroom. In my opinion, his time would be better suited in the back while someone else less useful cleaning the bathroom. If we hadn't already paid for our order, we would've simply walked out. Whichever "manager" was there tonight,...

Had another lovely evening out with my family. We love the food, it's always well made and delicious. Tonight, they seemed short staffed, and they got it done. We always order the same thing for our family of four, but it's always super complicated, lol. They are always on point, friendly, and professional. I've seen them crazy busy before and short staffed, and they always behave in an extremely professional manner, working as a team to get all that delicious food out. Madeline made our sandwiches tonight and they were amazing. She's always kind to us, and we've seen all these girls work every area of the restaurant. I have personally watched Autumn do everything from taking orders via either method to making delicious sammiches to COOKING in the back whenever needed. She cooked all our food tonight and I didn't even have to say light Buffalo sauce in my wrap, she just naturally put it THE perfect amount. We always come here so it's clear we'll be back. Ya, we're regulars for a reason. Keep up the good work!

I would be remiss though, if I didn't mention Sierra too. She made my family's burgers one day and not only were they perfect, but she really seemed to take such care in preparing the food and her manner was of a professional but kind and friendly.....thank you to all of...
