First time visiting and on a recommendation from a friend. Showed 30 minutes before closing on a Friday but was welcomed with open arms and zero rush by the staff.
Order 2 appetizers that were average and nothing exciting, but not terrible. My wife ordered the curry shrimp and was overly impressed. I have the fish and chips and it was average but again, not terrible, and was perfectly cooked.
All dishes were portioned decently and priced well. The food was served quickly and the reteraunt had just under 9 tables. But what stood out, was the staff.
When we showed near closing time, we apologized and they would have nothing of it - very welcoming. Very polite wait staff that offered suggestion on their all home made sauces for each dish, which was nice. At the start of our meal, the owner was making rounds to tables, welcoming patrons and asking how everything was. He stopped at our table, but seeing as were just starting our meals, he dismissed himself to come back later. This was fantastic. We felt welcome. As we finished, the owner returned to tall to us. This is extremely impressive and refreshing. We eat out often and rarely do managers or owners check on tables any more. We had a nice quick little chat about the place, it was great. He listened to my honest criticisms with care and it was a great discussion.
While the food varied some from average to amazing, we will definitely return to try their menu again. I wish...
Read moreWe attempted to eat here twice before but it was closed outside of the hours that are posted on the door. We finally made it in on our third attempt. There were several tables free and we took the booth second up from the door. The server brought our ordered drinks (water had no ice in it) then took our food order. After taking our food order he went directly to the table over and up one and gave them our menus and took their drink order. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. When the table that came in after us was served, I finally asked about our order. The server replied that they were there first, which was not the case as I reminded him. The restaurant continued to fill up and then emptied out and we were still waiting. An entire Christmas parade passed by outside while we waited! It was going on two hours by the time our food showed up. (Had it been just my husband and I, we would've been long gone but my son and grandson wanted to wait.) I was so angry that I couldn't even speak. Never once were we offered refills of water or drinks. No apologies were ever made, no explanation was ever given. Not shockingly, no discount or future credit was offered. There are way too many places to eat for this nonsense and aggravation. Save your evening and go...
Read moreWe went here on a spur of the moment kinda thing. We had a gift certificate to eat here, so we thought we'd try it. Apparently, word has it they have the best butter chicken in town, and so we had to find that out. And it's true, lol. Wow, their butter chicken is on a whole other level. Comes with a generous amount of it as well as some rice and Naan bread. It was full of flavor and still had a good amount of spice. We also tried the truffle mushroom burger, which I asked for onion rings on the side. The burger was awesome. Had to cut it in half. Great mid section, great flavor, and the meat was cooked perfectly. The onion rings were crunchy but still had that good flavoring and were not soggy and didn't have that grease taste that some other restaurants have. We also had the deep fried pickled. It's probably the best we've ever eaten. Just like before with the onion rings, no grease flavor, crunchy on the outside, not soggy, and really good flavor. I'm really going to recommend this place. It's definitely got that local vibe to it, so if you'd like something different and want to support local, try this place out. The prices are also very reasonable.
Note, the deep fried pickle picture was taken when we were almost done them as we couldn't stop...
