Olive Tree Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Fort St. John

I was getting ready to tear this place apart with this review, until I actually tried the food. Let me explain:

I called to place my order for take out based on the online menu. The gentleman over the phone was friendly and answered my questions about the menu well.

Now, upon arriving at the restaurant to pick up my order I was surprised to see that not only was the price of what I ordered more than what I had expected, but the portion sizes were less. I ordered the souvlaki platter which (online) states 3 skewers, rice, potatoes, pita, Greek salad for $19.99. The restaurant menu says the platter only comes with 2 skewers, no salad and the price is increased to $23.99; this is extremely unprofessional. The gentleman working did honour the online menu and give me three skewers but did not give me the Greek salad. This needs to be corrected, and in the interim, patrons should be notified about the discrepancy when ordering over the phone.

The food however was AMAZING. The chicken was tender and juicy, the pita was fluffy, potatoes were incredibly well seasoned, and the tzatziki was winning all around. Despite the discrepancies between menus, I don’t have enough good things to say about the food itself.

I do believe that the platter should come with 3 skewers and the salad, especially at the $23.99 price point otherwise it’s hard to justify the cost on taste alone. The portion needs to be...

Nobody was in the restaurant when we arrived, we ordered three plates and it took over 30 minutes for just my food to reach the table, the only customers that came in after were 3 door dash deliveries. My quesadilla was not worth 16 dollars, it was half the size of something you’d get at Boston Pizza (for cheaper at that) and it was not very warm and extremely salty.

The other two members of my party ordered vegetarian plates (falafel) and were finally served chicken souvlaki…. No discount for the corrected plates, given the time it took. Staff was not very apologetic over this, and eventually corrected the plates. I watched some other customer come in after we finally got our food and he finally got up and left after about 15 minutes of waiting.

Definitely need management improvements, particularly with time management for meal preparation. Both staff seemed very unorganized and I felt rather bad for them. Hopefully some management changes will correct this. Don’t think I...

We’re visiting FSJ for the Easter weekend Ordered take out on a Friday night. 2 Greek salads with chicken and a donair. I had ordered the dressing on the side of the salads and it came smothered in dressing. Most of the salad was lettuce and tomato with small bits of green peppers, a few cucumbers and next to no feta cheese. I’ve never had a Greek salad with lettuce before. It made the whole thing slimy. The worst part for me was that the chicken did not taste Greek it tasted like Indian chicken. I am not a big fan of curry and that’s all I could taste. I ate about half and threw the rest of it away. As for the baclava, it was some dried bits of sweet walnut in a tiny fold of phyllo. Certainly not the layers of gooey honey baclava I have had in the past. Very disappointing and we will not order...
