The Big Catch (Keswick) — Restaurant in Georgina

I’d like to start off by saying…just wow. I called to ask a question before deciding what to order (pick-up). They didn’t answer and I thought, darn, guess I gotta just pick halibut or haddock blindly. Well 30 seconds later, a male called me back and apologized for missing my call. Like…who does that anymore?! Awesome customer service! On top of telling me which is the more popular item, he added which one was his favourite versus his sister’s favourite :) that made it personal so I thought that was also great customer service. Hubby went to pick up our orders and said the brother and sister who were running the place were efficiently working together like a well-oiled machine. He said they were working non-stop and when they weren’t working, they were cleaning. He also said “their parents should be very proud of them, even their fingernails were cut short and clean.” I loved hearing that about a place I’m buying my food from! Also, hubby said it didn’t even smell like fish in there which we’ve seen from some other fish & chips places. The halibut was delicious (a tad greasy but it’s deep fried so it’s to be expected). The fries that come with the fish is a huge portion and the coleslaw was crunchy, creamy and fresh as a daisy. A great find for truly amazing Fish & chips! Huge portions, great value & super-friendly staff who truly care about their customers...they honestly strive to satisfy each customer.

Super-light fluffy batter, NO Greasy after-taste & their thick-cut fries....YUM👌❗🤩

Luvd luvd luvd their in-house scratch peppercorn gravy -not too salty but full of rich flavour....and can we praise them for their in-house made tartar sauce👏🙌👏

Fish & chips this great deserves only freshly made and NOT the generic pre-packaged goop most other places serve. Witnessed each order of fish & chips hand-dipped into their special batter then carefully watched over in the fryer. 🙅‍♀️No greasy smell when u walk in so a testament of clean oil used here...a separate fish, fries & 'others' fryer as well.

Salad was super fresh & crispy, not prepped in advance so no wilted or browning greens to be found.

Their deep-fried Mars bar truly was the perfect sweet finish.

Decor is simple, the freshwater fishing posters that adorned the interior is a nice & interesting read.

Was originally going to do take-out but noticed their nice outdoor tables on their side garden patch and we simply couldnt wait to dive into the wafting smell of some truly amazing fish & chips

This was my second time ordering the halibut and it was delicious. I also tried the coleslaw & Greek salad and both were very fresh. The fries were plentiful and this time I split the order into two, reheating the leftovers in my air fryer. They were great on the second day, too, which usually isn’t the case with fries! The owner missed my call initially but called me right back & got my order started while I did errands. The first time I ordered, they even ran the order out to my car before I could get out.
