Food was delicious .... server was nice .... that said the place was packed. We had reservations for a larger group (birthday supper) made about a month earlier and confirmed the day before (10 of us for supper) and table was set up but it took forever to even get seated .... no line up prior to us, but definitely one as we waited. Staff just kept walking by us even though we blocked their narrow entranceway due to our group size and we had to keep shifting to accommodate not only staff with food & drinks but patrons trying to leave. Bartender came over twice to tell us someone would be with us but it was still quite sometime before someone came to take us to our table. If they had been quicker to come and seat us I am sure the chaos at the entranceway would have been minimized. Would recommend a hostess just for the door on busy nights to keep things flowing. Waitresses were busy and our waitress brought our bills before asking if anyone wanted dessert. She may have forgotten but it seemed like they wanted the space and were rushing us out. I whispered to her that she hadn't asked about dessert ... she apologized and took the dessert orders. After dessert we waited quite sometime for the bills to be brought back. Honestly was a nice meal, I'd give the food a 5/5 but I'll not be inclined to go back with a group or on a busy night. First impressions matter from the time you get there til you leave.

Stopped by last week for a quick bite to eat and a pint. A nice little place that was pretty busy for a mid week lunch - which always says good things. You can tell the place has been there forever and they do what they do well. Ordered the Ruben which tasted great and the fries were rustic and I love them with the malt vinegar. Although tasty, the sandwich was not "pilled high" nor was it advertised as such..... but I felt it could be a bit more bulky considering the small bread (again fine but you'd then expect a bit more of a chunky bite). Anyway, Ruben was around $15 and another $8 for the pint. Tax and tip came in at $31. It ain't cheap to go out and its not cheap to run a restaurant. Alot of guests were having fish and chips.

I recommend this place as your go to dining experience if you're coming to goderich for a day trip to the lake. It's further up from the crowd and there's still beautiful walking grounds to enjoy either before or after your meal. The patio is nice. They have a little garden with a pond outside. Food was good. Grandparents really enjoyed their perch and Greek salad. They ate the whole thing. I had chicken wings and ribs. I ate all my food but a warning their chicken wings only come breaded. Luckily it was still tasty although I picked most of it off. No you can't have them unbreaded. Anyways check them out! I'd dine here again. Lots of bikers and tourists come here.

We wanted to love this place and make it our new spot. Nice grounds, close to events and live music at the park it backs onto. Nice patio area. We stood inside at the “please wait to be seated sign” for 7 min. Numerous staff walked by and no one acknowledged us. As we walked out a kitchen staff came out to take a break outside. We asked her if we want to sit on the patio if we stand outside or inside stating we’ve stood inside for over 5 mins and no one came to seat us. She scuffed us off and said “ya your best bet is outside”, rolling her eyes at our comment that we waited and no one came. Went outside and again stood, no one acknowledging. I said to my husband we should just go down the hill to beach street and an older gentleman overheard and approached. He said he didn’t work there however he was wearing a parkhouse sweater, he told us to sit at a specific table stating he was just sitting there and watched them clean it so “he knew it was as clean”. We went and sat. Sat for around 5 mins before a waitress came over. She was very short, direct and abrupt. “What do you want” giving no time to review the drink menu. Brought drinks, set them down, didn’t say anything. Just so short, I’ve never had a waitress that spoke so little and was so abrupt and cold. It was bizarre. We ordered our drinks, waited some time for them (please note it was not overly busy and they seemed to be fairly heavier staffed in my opinion, I used to be a server for many years). Ordered our food, again so short and cold. We sat and had our drinks and literally discussed potentially just walking out as they didn’t seem to want us there and the service had been so bad. Our food came quick and we did end up staying. Drinks were empty for a while, a young girl came by and we stopped her to ask her for drinks, she said she couldn’t take drink orders but would let our server know. New drinks did come quickly thanks to this young, polite, warm staff. Our waitress brought our drinks, didn’t ask how the food was which was a shame because the food was very good!! No complaints of the food. Hubby got a buffalo chicken wrap, fries and gravy: I had the Tuscan chicken sandwich with Caesar salad. Towards the end I tried to spark conversation with the server who once I started asking some questions she ended up being quite nice, but it shouldn’t be pulling teeth to get a small discussion and some personality from a server. She ended up charging us for only 1 drink, rather than 2. Whether this was because the cook said we weren't happy about waiting, the waitress messed up or she realized she wasnt very kind, I am unsure. tipped $15 to make up for the uncharged drinks. probably wont be back which is unfortunate as we live in town and go out at least twice a week. friends warned us, we gave parkhouse the benefit and unfoetunately they did not impress. didnt catch the cooks name, she was maybe 30s/40s, red faced, dark hair in a high bun: server didnt have a name tag, 40s/50s scrunched light brown hair. Not the...

My wife and I went here after liking what we seen on the menu. To start off, prepare to wait and wait for your food to come out, I recommend that you use your wait time to prepare yourself for the disappointment that's in store for you. I can't speak for everything on the menu, but we had the "wings, rings and things" appetizer platter to start. The onion rings were a greasy mess. The garlic bread was soggy as if it was microwaved. The honey garlic sauce for the wings is literally honey with garlic powder mixed in. It also comes with tater totts that you would get in any freezer section and carrot and celery sticks. The carrot and celery sticks were the best part. I then ordered "the best in town burger". If you are looking to get a burger, do yourself a favor and go to union burger, or run over to Walmart and get frozen burgers and a disposable BBQ. That's pretty much all you get. Store bought patty on a d'italiano bun, shredded lettuce, mustard and relish. The fries weren't horrible but not good either, kinda blah. The gravy, I don't know what it was, but it wasn't gravy. As for my wife she had the fish and chips. She wasn't able to eat it as the fish was soggy, like it was reheated in the microwave and the coleslaw just looked sad.

Tldr: high prices for the...
