Frustrating experience. Closed both the men's and women's washrooms at the same time, so the line for the family washroom was very long.
Then, when trying to order, it was absolutely deafening as three different employees behind the counter beside my cashier were yelling across the restaurant in French to their group of friends. Of course they didn't give me a receipt and then messed up my order. The manager did fix the order issue, but did nothing to reign in the behaviour of her employees. I'm not the only one they messed up the order of either.
A few of the French employees' friends were brought behind the counter for tours, which is extremely unsanitary, and one employee was refilling ice cream cones by balancing a stack with his hands on the bottom (that's fine) and his chin in the top ice cream cone... Yuck. I brought it up with the manager, but don't really think anything was done as she didn't seem able to control her staff.
The employees in the front were often just hanging out near tables and ignoring customers, and were so loud that it was hard to order nevermind enjoy a meal. Also, the door to the food prep area was left open the entire time I was there, since the employees kept coming out to visit when they should have been working and were bringing friends into the food prep area too.
The way this location was run while I was there was horrible, the manager needs to control her employees' behaviour because that was unacceptable and unsanitary. If the employees don't adhere to corporate policy with respect to behaviour and food safety, retrain them or fire them.
With that said, there were a couple of employees that were doing their jobs, kudos to them, they deserve recognition for trying to make the best of a...
Read moreFirst off, this McDonalds location always delivers. It is top notch for service and quality. I dug into the Big Arch to see if it reached a level that I feel it needed to for this chain. In my opinion it needed to pack as much punch as a Baconator or Carl’s Jr. burger. Big. Tasty and meaty. McDonalds needs this to be a slam dunk burger. It is not. It is merely fine. The bun adds nothing. The cheese is almost undetectable. The meat patty’s, while much bigger than the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder, are flat and almost tasteless. The lettuce and pickles are acceptable and slightly add to the taste profile. I liked the sauce. It is a mix between Mac sauce and the Firecracker sauce. A great hybrid. The absolute standout of the burger are the crispy onion straws. They absolutely save this from being very disappointing. Throughout the eating process I was waiting for this burger to smack my mouth with the juicy, massive flavour I expected. It did not come, save for the onion straws and, to a degree, the sauce. Overall this is an ok offering. Based on the hype and expectations for what this needed to be, it fails. Not spectacularly, but large enough where this might not be good news for this chain...
Read moreGenerally a good, quick place to eat or get coffee with reasonable prices. They are usually very quick with your order, especially in the drive through. I wouldn't say they have the greatest burgers, and their icecream items never sit well with my stomach, but it's good enough that I keep going back. Generally I just go for a small-ish meal; the McDouble and Junior Chicken are my favorite. While generally always impressed with the service, the Golden, BC location recently disappointed me by how slow they were. There was a huge line out the door that didn't even move for about 20 minutes, so I went to the drive through, at which point I waited at the intercom for over 5 minutes with no response whatsoever despite it being mid afternoon. Being fed up at that point, I got out of line and left. Otherwise, I have nothing bad to say about McDonalds. Also, most of their locations are modern and...
