I've eaten here a bunch of times since they opened just over a month ago. Yes, I like Korean food, that's a given.
The food is consistent and excellent.
If you don't have a lot of spice tollarence, some of the dishes (the ones with the red sauces) will be spicy for you, not all of them. But if you are good with spice, then you'll be fine, go for!
Someone walked by me on the first day and was like "where'd you get the sushi?". Well, it's Gimbap, not sushi, and here are some of the general differences in flavour you'll get (I'm not an expert).
The rice in sushi has vinegar and a bit of sugar, this is not the case for Gimbap, sonyhe general flavour is different. I think they're made with plain rice, and then once the roll is finished it is brushed with sesame oil. Also the fillings are very different, not "weird" just different than sushi. I've tried the original roll, the bulgolgi roll and the tuna roll. I think I was surprised by the tuna one the most. All 3 are great.
Order the Sesame (Perilla) leaves. The leaves themselves are kind of like a cross between regular basil and Thai basil? They're filled with a mixture, covered in tempura batter and fried. Yum. I've tried other things, but this review is now getting too long. Go discover what they have to offer, it's worth the experience.
The staff is great and friendly, they'll take...
Read moreSuper delicious! Upsate: They now have bubble tea! $5 per drink (pearls only for an add in) and flavours are delish (tried brown sugar and caramel macchiato). Kimchi was spicy enough for me, their more mild spice as it had the green chili by its name. Dumplings were crispy and fresh - came with 4 in our 1 order. No spice, didn't ask if there was any sauce for these or our Gimbap. Ordered beef bulgogi gimbap - tastes very fresh. Orignal Tteokbokki, cooked rice cakes in spicy sauce, was interesting. Tastes good but has a noodle/rubbery texture, so be aware if that is not your thing. Red chili by its name means the spicer dish. Bibimbap was good with some spicy suace included in the dish, may need to ask for this removed if you don't want a spicy dish. Menu is very clear on what's in each dish, BUT they do allow for beef bulgogi to be added to bibimbap (+$1.50), so they do have some flexibility on...
Read moreAmazing place, very underrated imo. The people who were serving were immaculate, an outstanding service. When me and family went, there was not a lot of people and it was a bit hot since there was no ac, so we decided to go to Muskoseepi for the breeze for the sunny day. But it did not ruin our time and flavour we received. In my experience, the wait was worth the taste you'll experience. Additionally, their packaging was very polished, no specks involved. (If you're taking out) They also generously gave us candy. Hopefully anyone who tries Ganada gets the same feeling as me and...
