Ellena's Cafe & Pantry — Restaurant in Greater Napanee

Friendly cafe. Lots of variety of kitchen merchandise and such. Had lunch there with friends. They followed social distancing protocol. Both my friends had the cream of vegetable soup, one with herb scone. The other had the "Adult" grill cheese and she raved about it every bite. I had the mediteranean chicken, with small potatoes and mixed vegetable. It was amazing! The pesto sauce on the chicken made such an impression. Perfectly sized and well seasoned plate. Had take out dessert. Their small coconut cream pie ( still enough for a small slice for 4 when I got home to share) was smooth, well balanced ratio of creamy and smooth layers, with toasted coconut on the top and a plus for me, NOT a regular flour crust but oats and shredded coconut FABULOUS. The customer service was exceptional, the food absolutely delicious and the kindness compares to none! I called from out of province to inquire about ordering a meal for my Mother In Law. The owner Ellena was absolutely delightful. I was able to order a meal for her birthday along with cupcakes that were devine. They went over and above what any one could ask for in customer service!!! My Mother in law was estactic when the delivery was made. I will and have called again and again for meals at last minute and a fun original basket to be sent to an older gentlemen. Awesome place!! Despite a long drive home, we decided to find a place to eat that was different from the usual burger and fries. Ellena's Cafe & Pantry seemed to fit the bill. It is barely 3 minutes off Hwy 401 in the town of (Greater) Napanee. The cafe had the perfect vibe. I ordered a delicious curry wrap (chickpeas with optional chicken) and an excellent coffee while my travel partner had the roast beef sandwich and a locally made soda. Seating is in the back and the food was brought out to us. Excellent food and service and very fun looking at all the kitchen items for purchase.
