The Duchess brand in general equates to quality. The Little Ritchie location is no exception. While it is a small space with a limited offering unlike the 124th street location, there is still more than enough selection of amazing pastries, macarons, savory baked goods, cookies, loaves, croissants and pies to fill any craving. The staff is as friendly as ever with helpful opinions. The only downside is that they do not offer their own coffee/drinks menu here; Transcend is located directly beside and they are the coffee shop for the area. The coffee at Duchess on 124th is equally as good as the baked goods so we sorely miss it when visiting the Little Ritchie location. Transcend coffee is alright, on par with Second Cup. Regardless, Duchess is by far the best bakery in the...

Umm, this was a weird place to go to for being so out of touch with the city these days. BUT! Easy to get to, ample parking, accessible, and such a great use of space. Staff were excellent, kind, and friendly. Products are always the best quality. I went on a Saturday morning because I was in the area, and I was a bit worried it would be as long of a line as the 124st location, but nope. The building itself was packed, but there was no line. Not sure if that's normal or I was in at the right moment, but it's nice that I can stop by and be in and out in five mins :) I don't need to review the treats I got bc come on, it's Duchess....

Little Duchess in Ritchie is the smaller sister of the large bakery on 124 Street. They have many of the same pastries and dishes as the larger one. This one shares a space with a few other businesses (butcher, coffee shop, restaurant, etc.). The staff is always friendly and happy to give recommendations. It's nice to see that the area is getting more local things to check out! The space is inclusive and all on one level - which makes easy access for wheelchairs and walkers. There is street parking around the area, which is sometimes quite busy, so you tend to have to park and then walk a bit to your final destination. Worth stopping...

This is by far the best French bakery I found in Edmonton, and the closest to the authentic French bakeries owned by French immigrants in Quebec. You can taste that their ingredients are of very high quality. The croissants taste like they're made with imported butter, and same with the chocolatine. You can tell the chocolate is of high quality. And you can definitely taste the butter in the scones too. Yes, it's a little bit expensive, but it's the price to pay for baked goods made with imported ingredients. I will definitely go back.

The picture says it all. Tiny but mighty. Flavourful in ways you won’t expect. We drive from YYC to come here and nothing compares. Selection is solid with many modern takes on traditional pastries as well as classics. Outdoor seating is perfect for warm weather days. Highly recommend as it’s worth the 300km drive. We’ve tried many things from croissants to cookies and beyond. The only way you’ll be disappointed is if you don’t go. Or you go too late in the day and they sell out!
