Steel Wheels is Korean Pizza shop and an absolute hidden gem for Edmontonians. I've been happily eating here for 8 years until I moved to Montreal, but I always make a point to stop by for some Bulgogi Pizza when I'm in the area (which was problematic when I worked on Whyte). $3 for 2 slices is insane value - try to time it when a fresh batch is out or get a whole pizza with friends. There's just something about the combination of gooey cheese, delicious Korean marinated beef, and their fluffy and crunchy crust that gets me every time. I usually eat mine with ranch and chili flakes.

Owners are an amazing Korean family that have spent over 20+ years serving Edmonton and the nightlife seen delicious and affordable food and drinks. Phil has a legendary following for his friendliness, great service, and cowboy hat. You'll often see his wife helping in the back with a smile on her face. You'll find their kids helping out the business, but the son, Dan, has taken a more active role in recent years.

The place is oozing with character from the collection of customers over the years. You'll find murals, drawings, and messages all over the walls. You'll always run into people going here since the beginning 20+ years ago to first timers. The uniting bond is everyone has fonds memories and stories of their nights at...

Prefacing with the fact that I’ve been a regular customer here since 2014. There has been many memories made here with friends over the years since it’s normally open so late (modified hours with Covid at this point in time) and located near Whyte ave.

My favourite thing to order here is the Kimchi Stew and Beef bulgogi meal made extra spicy. I’ve tried a lot of the menu but I always end up returning to these. There is “objectively” better Korean food places in Edmonton, but I think this place has the best bang for your buck if you’re looking to focus on spending quality time with a friend/date.

Customer service is always 10/10 here for me. Always greeted warmly by the family working here, and the very rare time I was unhappy with something, it was fixed right away.

Overall- The eclectic atmosphere with graffiti, the warm customer service, and Korean food makes Steel Wheels the ideal place to spend with your friends on a budget, especially if you want to drink...

I order take out from here at least once a week after I'm done work in the late evening, but it's also a must stop place after a night out with my friends.

The graffiti style of the restaurant is so unique and cool, but even better than that is the food. The bulgogi meal and bulgogi noodle are always fire. I personally think the bulgogi pizza is a little overrated, but I'm glad so many people enjoy it.

One of the best late food places in the Strathcona area. A nice alternative to all the late greasy food places around here. Also, it feels great to support the fantastic people/family who run the place. Always greet and treat you with a big smile, respect and appreciation.

Hope to get to treat my grand children to Steel Wheels many years from now and tell them about all the memories...

It is a spot famous among college/ university students. The ambiance speaks volumes about the crowd, There were writings at every corner of the restaurant and found a pretty young crowd when I went there at around 1 am. Happening place for young indivisual As far as food! Not a fan ... I ordered a vegetarian Pizza for takeout. It was a little bland and the base is a corn bread, very less toppings. My recommendation level : 3/5 ( Ambiance: only suitable for young crowd (sharing pics for rerefence) just go there once, not for food but to experience a college night out eatery. It might remind you of your college spot....) Let me know if you have been to any similar place in edmonton... I would definitely go there.

Steel Wheels is a little hole in the wall with yummy late night snacks like bulgogi pizza, kimchi soup and green onion cakes. The bulgogi pizza has the softest crust and really great flavour - get two slices for $5 or devour the whole box for $18. The kimchi soup has a lot of meat in it, it’s not the best one I’ve had but still quite tasty! Overall, it’s the perfect hideaway when you get the munchies after a late night drinking away your sorrows or partying solo in your house since it’s COVID. Enjoy sitting in the grungy booths and entertain yourself with some of the explicit art on the walls. The owner is a gem and you can tell he cares about his customers. An Edmonton classic that must be visited!!!
