Went to the restaurant for dinner with a friend and family. The service was good and the staff were very nice and friendly. Honestly I loved the service that we received. It did not take too long for the food to get there. Ordered the meatballs and bruschetta for appetizers. Meatballs were ok, though I have tasted better and the bruschetta had an overwhelming amount of tomatoes chopped into large slices and lots of spices. I could only eat the crust and took everything else off. The crust was delicious however. I really did like eating it.
The service was really nice when my friend, who was lactose intolerant, asked for a pizza without cheese and even warned of the spiciness beforehand. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, for $16 I might add. The serving amount was a bit smaller than I thought but the pizza my friend got was a lot bigger than we thought. My friend took one bite of the pizza and automatically did not like it. Her mom took a bite and shared the same opinion. I shared my meatballs with her and that was all she had to eat along with the bruschetta. My friend discovered that the meatballs were undercooked due to some pink meat still showing through on the inside. We both stopped eating them after that.
My opinion of the spaghetti was that it didn't taste great but it didn't taste too bad either. It was just at the price we were charged, I was expecting something a little more tasteful. The meatballs were a bit bland on the spaghetti, having more flavour the first time with the appetizers. Though that is my personal opinion of them. My friend stated that she really enjoyed the taste of it. In the end, the pizza wasn't finished but the staff were nice about it, taking it off the bill since we didn't really eat any of it.
Overall, the food wasn't that amazing, being about average for some of the dishes, while others just weren't great at all. The staff and service are amazing though. They are really friendly and understanding. I give that and the building 5 stars. It was really nice eating in there. In addition, I would recommend this place to other people, though try testing some of the other food before going for the pasta. And just watch what you are eating.
Just during the meal, we brought up several times that my friend could not have dairy, but she ended up sick in the bathroom for a while due to her taking a bite out of one of the food items served with the meatballs as an appetizer. I don't remember the name of it. Also another negative would have been trying to get through the menu. All the categories and food titles were in Italian. I understand that it is an Italian restaurant but I didn't feel like trying anything that I didn't already know what it is because of the names. Being unable to understand most of the things with a small ingredient list didn't help too much either. I was staring at the menu a good 10-15 minutes before I decided on one of the only things that I knew anything about. The menu made it a little hard to want to try new things.
Overall, nice restaurant. Just could use a few things on the menu...
Read moreBeing 45 minutes away, this is an establishment that we don't frequent alot. It is by far sudbury's best spot for wood oven baked pizza with tasty thin crust and toppings all over cooked to perfection. One cannot ask for more. Well maybe if the service matched, it could of been an experience to remember for better reasons. One thing I noticed is that they still have the oils on the table to make it look good but they have taken away the complimentary bread baskets that was part of the full experience of going to an Italian eatery. Let's start with the apps. Our party of 4 ordered 3 apps and after a 45 minute wait, one of them showed up. Yes the other two took another 10 minutes to show up. Although they were all ordered at the same time and they are apps that usually come out in a short time, this set the course for the ruined experience. Other patrons that had arrived after we ordered were served their apps before ours. I cannot speak for the other two apps but I ordered the Nona's meatballs to which no bread was included to soak up that sauce and the fact that there was only 2 average size meatballs shows how much they are cutting back. That would make it $6 per meatball....kinda ridiculous cause they were nothing to write home about especially after waiting almost an hour for them. I must admit that when the pizzas did arrive, brought out by someone else than our waitress, it far succeeded our expectations. The chef is a master at his craft of creating and baking such pies with perfection. I can't say enough about them as they saved the experience from being a total bust. One thing I learned is that I'll be doing like a few people I noticed were doing is going there, ordering just a pizza earing it and leaving because to go there for a full experience is not going to happen. Now I know the reply of management for this review will say to come back and talk to them so they can make it right but my answer to that is you failed the first time at something you're suppose to excellent at, why would I take my hard earn money and go back to give you more? Oh, I will go back cause your pizza is awesome but that's all that I'm going to get. Never mind trying to make it a beautiful experience to share with family and friends. Just a quick pizza snack...
Read morePretty upset about this place to the point it's lingered on my mind for days . After passing this place daily I decided to plan a romantic date night out & chose digusto* as I was craving Italian wholesome food . We arrived and waited 14 mins to be seated when there was only 2 tables dining. The blond waiter walked past multiple times and one brunette . Finally a younger brunette seated us. The pizza maker was aware of us and we did wave our hands around so that was confusing ... still kept positive spirit as young folks later at night tend to get tired and we get it . So I order pasta and so does my fiancé . The young man who took my order by the way was the most amazing most knowledgable person in the entire restaurant and im sure he was a new hire which was impressive 10/10 for service and knowledge . My fiancé and I do NOT eat pork. He notified us that the pasta and salad we ordered included pancetta and if we take out the meat it would be discounted or we can sub it for a small portion of shrimp . We told him the sub would be sufficient and he went to talk with kitchen . When he got back the new manager that hasn't been there too long told him NO substitute even though it's for religious reasons and NO discount for removal of meat .... cool again we didint mind as we are focused on a good date night out . The waiter was told by the manager to offer us - " JUMBO SHRIMP FOR 1.50$ a peice " we did not receive jumbo shrimp at all ..... and that's expensive any how ... of course we still paid for it . Then the NEW MANAGER brings our salads out WITH PORK ALL OVER IT AND TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY . He doesn't apologize he just says " I'll be right back " ... my take on this is a poorly managed night . And the employees paid for it . Everyone was lazy because Management did not reflect efficiency and respect so why would employees follow suit ? Also if the waiters are detailed and taught a menu that needs to be followed no matter what chef or manger is working...
