The Daventry Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Greater Sudbury

Huge letdown. We came for the first time, for dinner last night, and we will never come back. We brought friends that we had visiting and it was terrible. Firstly, our waiter asked if the table of us 7 adults wanted water. We said yes, and never received the water. Then when ordering one guest asked for no Dijon on her reuben & extra sauerkraut on the side. One guest asked for mild cauliflower wings. One guest asked for a Dav burger with tomato, lettuce and pickles. One guest asked for cheese on their classic burger.

When the food came out, it was a mess. The cauliflower wings weren't tossed. When we informed the blonde woman who was helping serve food in business attire (im assuming owner or manager) she rudely asked "well what do you want, them tossed?"

Then our friend who ordered the rueben, never got her food. Our waiter, we were informed, forgot to punch it in. He didnt acknowledge it at all.

Then our friend who ordered cheese on her burger, never got it.

Then our friend who asked for lettuce, tomatoes and pickles on her burger got none of that.

We ordered drinks that never came.

No one said sorry. They didn't offer to take some money off any bill, didnt offer a discount to come back. No accountability. Even my friend who's order was forgotten and she got her food late (they forgot also to give her the extra sauerkraut she asked for) she had to pay her full bill.

Honestly shocked at the service. The restaurant was empty on a Friday night, so busy isn't a valid concern in this situation. Human error happens, and that is ok! I think just acknowledging that would've made such a difference to our experience. Unfortunately do not recommend, and...

Date night, seems easy enough.... but with work and kids it's hard. We had a night just the two of us (first in years) so we thought to give the Daventry a shot. The place looked great, the server (Jesse) was super kind and the portions were huge but that's where the pleasantries ended. The app we chose, the dip tro was tasty but upsetting, said to be served with Naan and fresh garden veggies but only having onions and cucumbers (both slightly pickled?) and so large the we ran out of the Naan before we could finish one of the three dips to which the server then took and through out with no offer for take home, my fish was over cooked and dry and her burger was very over salted (and she LOVES her salt). They had live music witch I usually don't mind but it wasn't very suitable with the vibe and so loud there was no way to make any conversation. After bringing it up we were offered a new dip to take home but we would have had to wait for it to cook and then cool down before it could be put into a take out to leave due to it being so hot, we decided against it as we didn't want to be there any longer. No compensation was offered and we had to pay it in full for more than 2/3 of it ending up in the trash. I really didn't wanna have to deal with any management for compensation or anything like that so we just paid the bill and left. More than likely...

We booked an outdoor globe to celebrate a few birthdays, very nice environment very cozy and we stayed warm enough. The menu had lots of variety. I’m not sure if they were short staffed or just busy with other tables and a “party” but the service was very slow. Took 30 minutes to get our drinks, we were told the bar would be a bit slow as the bar tender was focused on the “large party” inside. Our food was not terribly slow but didn’t arrive all at once, two of the 8 meals only arrived 10-15 minutes after the first delivery. No one had major complaints about the food but it was all just ok nothing mind blowing. We were a bit disappointed that they didn’t have any dessert to offer. After the bills were paid we were chatting for a few minutes until the server blunted told us our time is up and we have to leave as soon as possible. Not sure if many of us would be returning after this experience sad because we all heard great things and some had had prior better...
