Disappointing. I used to eat at Rose Apple before it moved to the new location and I loved it! The food was amazing and the service was always great. Unfortunately, this place has gone down hill since moving. The service and sushi was terrible.
When we arrived we were ignored by all the servers for 15 minutes waiting to be seated. No one even gave us eye contact as they walked by. When we finally ordered our food it was so unorganized and we kept getting the wrong order. The sushi was below average quality; it was comparable to a grocery store - nothing tasted fresh and was weird how it was presented. The spicy salmon roll was literally just salmon and cucumber with a glob of tobascco on top of the roll.
Our server didnt bring us plates or ramekins with soy sauce so we asked another server. When one of the servers brought our plates he man handled the plate touching it all over with his hands as he placed it on the table. Very unsanitary approach. Our server also never came to ask how the food was but asked at the very end how it was which was too late.
The only saving grace was the pad Thai which was yummy. However the pricing isn't very reasonable so I'll stick to My Thai Palace...
Read moreI’ve been to Rose Apple before so was surprised at the poor experience we had today. The restaurant seemed unorganized with lots of takeout stacked next to us with the next cubicle used for storage . A delivery truck arrived and the restaurant dropped to about 10C while they unloaded the vehicle so we had to put our jackets on. I ordered the chicken satay with mango salad. The lemon grass soup and spring rolls were delicious but things went downhill from here. My mother ordered the sushi which was at best adequate. You can tell when sushi is freshly prepared and this was at best what you might find at the grocery store. The main course arrived cold so I gave them permission to microwave it which they did. The chicken satay was dry and tough like shoe leather and the mango very unripe. I am one of those people that usually sucks it up and just doesn't go back but felt the need to mention the experience. Our server was uninterested in our opinion and even argued that all mango is unripe this time of year. There was no comment about the chicken and no excuses or...
Read moreWe had a lovely early dinner here around 4pm for the all-you-can-eat. The food was great. I really love their mango salad (so many Thai places here remove it from their menu... ahem Thai Express). I am also obsessed with their green salad with this amazing dressing, which I have tried to replicate for years to no avail. Two suggestions: First, please put your deserts back on the menu. Having to ask a server for them directly feels like a cost-cutting measure (which I shouldn't be thinking about), and as far as I know, it's not industry standard for all-you-can-eat sushi places. Secondly, their tea options included a ginger tea, which I chose. When I tasted it, it was super-sweet. I never drink my calories, so I was not impressed. It turns out that that one flavor is a powdered, sugary drink. Please mention this to your customers before serving as I feel like most people who simply ask for "hot tea" do...
