Good, the bad, and the ugly on Fri Jul 5

FIRST: Most of the reviews and the photos here are incorrect. They are for the other original location in Killarney. This location is in a dingy land locked strip mall plaza NOT near water with no exterior seating. NOT the quaint free standing building shown in some photos.

GOOD: The fish was GREAT! We came here because local trout and pickerel are the fish they use, not haddock or halibut like you usually find. Lots of smaller pieces lightly battered. Decent amount of fresh cut french fries.

BAD: Sticky tables and slow service. Was told 20 min, but ended up being 40. I don’t mind being told it’s going to be longer for fresh made, but let’s be honest. It would be better if they actually outlined on the menu what type of fish you were going to get, since people typically expect halibut. Location and decor are poor. Prices are also much higher than average.

UGLY: So this is what destroyed our experience. I split open two different pieces of fish and brought them up to the cash to ask the guy what type of fish each of these were. He proceeds to pick it up and poke each one while telling me what they are. This is right after handling the cash!!! I was shocked! Now if that’s what he did, I was worried what things were like in the back. Let’s hope the cook’s hygiene was better. This is why I hate tipping at the cash when you...

After driving down highway 637 the reward is this restaurant. The highway is not in great shape so be warned. We've heard about the best fish & chip place and I would agree with others that the fish really is great. The fish was very fresh and tasty but the coleslaw was bland so I wouldn't bother getting it next time. Fries were just ok. A bit pricey for the larger meal $20 and really isn't that much bigger than the small order $12 -- but very good nonetheless. Restaurant server wasn't the friendliest and maybe she was having a bad day. Eating outside by the marina was really nice and the ambiance perfect. ! We would go again definitely, if the highway wasn't so bad however, we are glad that we finally...

Worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Fish was super soggy and flavourless. Fries also lacked serious salt. The gravy also was chunky and tasted weird. The tartar sauce was just little kraft packets which was very disappointing. I was hoping to taste some authentic made from scratch tartar sauce not something I can buy at the grocery store. The only good thing about this meal was the coleslaw, which was decent but nothing special. Very disappointed in the quality of their food and will not be ordering from here again. I do not usually leave google reviews on restaurants but I was so dissatisfied I needed to share it in hopes that no one else makes the same mistake I did by...

Made a pit stop here on the route home after a weekend at Killarney. Fast and efficient service with such friendly staff. The fish is cooked perfectly, with a thinly coated layer of batter that was still so crispy. The freshly cut fries were also delicious. They provide all the vinegar, salt, pepper, ketchup and sriracha you need - my only downside is they use kraft packets of tartar sauce but the fish is so good that you barely notice. They have picnic tables by the water so you can sit and eat, which makes it the perfect sunny lunch date!

Best Fish and Chips Anywhere I work with a small Coast Guard buoy tender, Caribou Isle, and we always make sure to stop here for the delicious fish and chips. They use fresh caught whitefish which they catch themselves. Whitefish does not have a fishy taste as with other types of fish, this makes the deep fried fish and chips taste so light and flaky. I am originally from Nova Scotia and can say without hesitation that this is the best fish and chips I have ever had! I just wish I could drop in more often than once every few years :-)
