Service was excellent, very warm and inviting atmosphere, never felt rushed, waitress was very attentive. However, I was not impressed with a few things. Eating out at a restaurant is very pricey these days, no matter where you go, from a fast food joint to a 5 star steakhouse, it doesn't matter. We ordered escargot for an app, and it didn't come with any bread, which I found odd, especially for 16$. It was sad we had nothing to dip into all the extra garlic butter floating in the wells of the dish. If i'm paying 40+ dollars for prime rib, I do have expectations. I found the prime rib was SWIMMING in demi glace. I couldn't even see it under so much gravy. It also lacked seasoning. It was tender however. The fact that the horseradish came in a plastic container really cheapened the meal. The butter as well came in those little plastic containers. I think there could be a much more classy way to serve condiments. I ordered sweet potato fries, which were good, however, I had the suspicion that these are not made in house, and come frozen. The dessert was wonderful, but again, not made in house. (I asked). I think that is something that is happening more and more these days - restaurants bringing in desserts and not making them in house. I will not go back, I have some favorite spots in Sudbury, and sadly Mr. Prime Rib is not one of them.

This was my & hubby's first time at this restaurant (we don't live in or near Sudbury), and it was lovely!! We're visiting my mom for Easter, and decided to take her out for dinner. I had the calamari as an appetizer, hubby had the Mediterranean bread, & mom had the escargot... we were all very happy with our choices & would definitely order them again. I strongly recommend the calamari -- they were delightfully tender & not at all rubbery... they were cooked perfectly! Mom & hubby each had the special ($30 for a big bone-in sirloin with choice of potato & grilled veggies), and I opted for the prime rib with blue cheese & walnut butter... I have to admit that I was a piggy and ate my whole serving of meat... and about half of my salad šŸ¤£šŸ˜†šŸ¤£šŸ˜†!! I ordered mine rare, and it was so tender, I was able to cut it with my fork. We hope to be back to enjoy this restaurant again in the future šŸ˜‹

Had a wonderful experience dining at Mr Prime Rib! The food was excellent and ready shockingly fast. I don't think it took more than five minutes from placing my order for it to be brought out. My server (Julie) was great and checked in on me frequently. I ordered the Prime Rib (medium rare) & Pasta, which was delicious and perfectly cooked. If I had to leave a note, the pasta sauce was a little on the salty side but not overbearingly so. To finish off I got the Raspberry cheesecake, which was absolutely perfect! From texture to sweetness level I have no notes except keep making it! Overall 10/10 will definitely eat there again and will recommend to anyone looking for a intimate date night with some of the best food in town.

I’m sorry, but this restaurant meets all the criteria for a Kitchen Nightmares episode.

When we first walked into the venue, the owner was very rude and bullheaded. When my girlfriend showed her VAX Document on her phone, he was very rude and grabby. When she told him that she preferred him to not touch her device, he was very confrontational. This definitely set the mood for the entire evening. The wait staff were very polite and understanding, but the owner seems to be very argumentative, rash and rude.

The decor is straight from the 80’s. When going to the mens bathroom, they use it for storage, and don’t really care to clean it up at all. Floors were wet, Christmas tree was in the corner during early October.

When at the table, our table cloth was stained with old food, menus were crinkled, wet, and stained with grease. Not impressed AT ALL.

When it came to ordering food, the Prime Rib was mediocre. We ordered ours medium, but the order was clearly raw. My girlfriend ordered the bƩarnaise sauce prime rib, and the sauce came out crusty, cold and tiny. Barely covered half the steak. A few steaks that our party ordered came with kitchen labels of rarity still in the meat. My brother ordered the caesar salad, which was made with store-bought dressing and was drenched with sauce. Veggies were pre-cut, and tough.

We will not be returning, and will be eagerly awaiting the kitchen...

Last weekend, we had celebrated a 70th birthday party of my father in law. My husband set up the party and we had over 35 people coming as far away as Ottawa. This party was planned weeks in advanced with the restaurant. It was good food and the service was fine. We had to wait for drinks etc. but we had a large group so we understood. What we didn't understand is that when each person was paying (there was a huge lineup at cash) the owner Sam started to get agitated and raising his voice to my husband. He complained that "we should put an automatic tip on each bill" he said that three people didn't tip. He started calling the family 'rude' 'ignorant' for not tipping. I know my husband tipped over 20% and others tipped greater than 15%. He also didn't check the tables so that fact that he is getting irate about 3 people out of 35 not tipping but isn't 100% sure was disgraceful. My father-in-law was in the lineup waiting and I thank God that he didn't hear the owner having a meltdown. I will never ever step foot in this restaurant again. They charged us 22.00 for cake cutting fees which we paid and understood. If he gets this mad about tipping then he should have applied mandatory tipping like many other restaurants that do with big groups. But instead he yelled and ruined the end of a wonderful night as a greedy business owner who has forever tainted this day...
