Stayed at this hotel for work, been to a few Hilton Garden Hotels and was interested in seeing how they compare to others I've stayed at. This hotel is located right in town. It's about a 20 to 25 minute drive from the airport. Cost of taxi from airport to hotel is about $30 one way. Once you walk in they have a nice seating area to the right along with a snack corner where items are for purchase. In the middle is their checkin counter and to the left is their restaurant and bar. This space is quite big with seating for atleast 80. From what I noticed, if you're in the restaurant/bar, the bathrooms are across the lobby and elevators and towards the pool area. None are located in the actual restaurant. Just an observation. Waited a few minutes for someone to help me check in, but the whole process was quite quick. Was given a room at the end of the hallway on the 2th floor. They also have a pool, you can smell it when you walk in. This chain of hotels has some nice room designs and additions that I haven't seen before that just made sense. Happy to see they are also offered at their Sudbury location. I travel for work, so staying in a hotel is normal to me so these features are welcomed. The closet is set up more like a mini walkin. There is a full sized mirror that is flanked by a rod to hang up any of your clothes on the left. Not sure who installed the rod, but they installed it very high, around 6 feet high. It's quite comical. Then, on the right side is a series of shelves with drawers. These are positioned so that you can both put items into the drawers and on top of them. Along the inside is also your ironing board and iron. Love this design and makes sooo much sense. Next to the closet is a small food and drink unit that contained a microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge. The fridge is hidden behind a nice door so as to keep the space looking streamlined. Next was the entertainment unit which contained a small bench with storage underneith. I could see this space being used for shoes or even luggage so not to be in the way. Love this too, so instead of having a bench at the end of the bed there was this space that can be used. The TV was quite large and has the ability to be swiveled to be watched from different angles. Below the TV was two doors that opened up to more shelves for those who like to unpack. The hotel carpet is well maintained and clean. The desk was also large and held a nice desk lamp. Large window faced the business next door and the blinds and curtains blacked out the room when it was time for bed. Below the window was an AC unit that kept the room cool all night. In the corner of the room was a nice sized chair that I used and was able to curl my legs up under myself. King size bed was very comfortable and both sides has large floating night stands. This makes for space under the shelves to be used and helped make the room feel even bigger. The bathroom has a full sized mirror, lots of counter space and a walkin shower. The door to the bathroom is a modern barn door. Was a little heavy and reluctant to move. Could see it being a bit problematic trying to close in the middle of the night when sharing the room. The hotel provides complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion. These are in full size bottles attached to the wall either in the shower or by the sink. Previously tried the products at another one of their hotels, as they are the type that shouldn't affect my sensitive skin. All of them were great and the light scent I could only describe as citrus with a touch of ocean and clean cotton. It was truly a beautiful, light and clean scent. Though I initially loved this idea, I now do not recommend using them. They can be accessed by anyone, which means people can add anything to the hotel's products. I do recommend that these bottles be secured in a manner that only staff can open so as to keep them safe from being tampered with. Continued in...
Read moreMy recent stay at Hilton Garden Inn Sudbury left me feeling dissatisfied with the overall value and amenities offered. While the hotel's location was convenient and the rooms were quite comfortable, it's the small details that ultimately define the guest experience - and unfortunately, Hilton Garden Inn Sudbury falls short in this regard.
One of the most notable drawbacks was the absence of complimentary breakfast. Instead, guests are directed to the onsite restaurant, where prices are steep. This lack of included breakfast significantly diminishes the overall value of the stay, especially when compared to other hotels in the area that offer this amenity as standard.
Also, the provision of complimentarcoffee only in the morning feels restrictive. In an era where travelers expect convenience and accessibility, such limitations on basic amenities are disappointing.
As a guest who values both affordability and quality, I cannot ignore these misses opportunities. In the future, I will be seeking better value for money elsewhere. While Hilton Garden Inn Sudbury may have its merits, the limited amenities do not justify a repeat visit.
While my stay at Hilton Garden Inn Sudbury was satisfactory, the lack of inclusive amenities and overall value for money leave much to be desired. For those seeking a more fulfilling and economical stay, I would recommend exploring alternative accommodation options in the area. After all, it's the little things that truly make a difference, especially in the face of...
Read moreThe Good:|- Clean|- New|- Great functional closet space for a family with multiple pieces of luggage|- Sleek bathroom, great toiletries (a light scent that didn't bother me- and I'm pretty sensitive to scented products, so that says something). Shower had a little kick pedal to make it easier to shave your legs.|- Comfy beds|- Nicely sized room|- The pool was nice!|- The app worked great for sharing the key with the whole family|- Staff were helpful||The Not Great:|- Bathroom door didn't lock (Hilton, do you travel with teenagers?)|- Bedding I know it's summer, but I felt the duvet was still quite thin. Whatever that top sheet was, the texture reminded me of those paper bibs at the dentist office.|- The bar was closed at 10pm on a Saturday (Husband and I were trying to escape the teenagers. We went across to the Keg).||The To-Be-Expected:|- The view wasn't fantastic. But this is Sudbury. If we wanted a view, we'd have rented a cottage.|- Outlet chargers were still all USB-A, but everyone's iPhone now has a USB-C connection. Just make sure everyone in your party has an actual plug.||Ideas for the Good People at Hilton:|- If you put a barn door on the closet, someone else can get changed in there. There's a mirror, and a light, and it's spacious enough. This would be a nice feature for families with multiple teenagers or the travelling sports teams that use this kind of hotel. |- More clarity on where we could park. (But it was kinda... everywhere? Even spots that looked like they were for other...
