Taj Bistro-Sudbury — Restaurant in Greater Sudbury

My name is Vijay(South Indian), we were actually 4 guys went have buffet at Taj Bistro, Sudbury on 11/08/2016 around 7:30pm. Stale/ nasty food in the non veg section, manager( as told to us) doesn't have a minimum customer service skills. The manager of the store was blasting at us for wasting the food, which we felt was a stale food. He said, he will charge double the price for wasting the stale food( which we felt) and started shouting at us saying its his right to protest. They didn't refill the grilled chicken( Indian style) once it was finished and it was also cold. To us( personal opinion) didn't felt the food was fresh and was not worth for the price. Atlast he gave as a receipt with null amount saying that the food is "FREE"( since he might have felt bad for the nasty/stale food, which is given to us). We didn't accept his FREE food, the total amount was close to 80CAD and gave him a $20 tip for his awesome service. To whoever this concern, please take my suggestion in consideration bacause as a Customer, We felt bad for "Paying and getting shouting from the Manager"of the store for something, which is not our mistake . I wish I couldve given this restaurant a better review but I cannot due to a traumatizing experience caused by the workers and their lack of disclosure. Me and my boyfriend where staying at the best western hotel right beside this restaurant, we decided to get a late dinner. we asked the server two times if they cooked with any nuts because my boyfriend is allergic to all tree nuts and they said no, the worker we spoke to seemed to not undertsand our question. We ordered butter chicken and after one bite me and my boyfriend had to rush to emerge because he had a severe allergic reaction. The people who work here barely understand English and almost killed my boyfriend due to a communication misunderstanding. We saw no sign stating food may have nuts and the menu said nothing about it either. Be careful while dining here if you or your loved one have allergies 😢 (update we confronted the owner and he said they did cook with nuts and he didn't know why the server told us they didn't, we got no refund just a apology that the server was "a new higher" I am not satisfied with this service. Deceiving advertisement outside. Price listed on the windows outside are $10.99 for 15 items. The actual price was $14.99 for less than the advertised number of items.

Majority of the buffet is empty. It's not like how it used to be when it first opened or pre-COVID.

Chicken Biryani was delicious.

Butter chicken was good. They had to add the tandoori chicken to the sauce but this was fresh and very hot. Not dry at all.

Naan was cold.

Paneer in the sauce was cold. It was not heated thoroughly.

Salad bar is plain lettuce with nothing else except for some raw onions and seasonings.

Ice cream was a sad state. Vanilla, some orange one type that was almost empty, probably mango. The other ice cream lid was closed so I didn't open it.

Restaurant was empty for lunch time.

Cutlery was self-serve. Water was offered once. I went to grabbed the jug myself.

Food was ok. Quality was ok. Service was poor. This buffet is not worth $14.99. You are better off getting the displayed deals on the doors. However, I am unsure if these deals...
