I would not recommend this place to anyone who like pho.
My wife and I went here two days ago, I saw they made a mistake with the order for the table next to us, then they messed up with our order: we ordered 1 appetizer and two pho, they brought a second appetizer to us then realized we didn't order the second one. I also asked specifically that I don't want cilantro in my pho bc I'm allergic to cilantro, the lady who took my order promised to me then brought me a pho with shredded cilantro in there. When I told her, she started argue with me about what's the proper name for cilantro and then questioning me about my ability of identify cilantro and green onion. Now they are even arguing with my wife in the review.
I just wanted to say, first, I definitely know what cilantro is, because first of all I'm allergic to it, secondly I graduated from a horticulture program and been working in agriculture for couple years, thirdly, I cook a lot and I know herbs, especially for those what I'm allergic to.
Besides about the accident of cilantro in my pho, the food quality is not very satisfying, the appetizer we ordered is fried spring rolls, the crust is over cooked and the stuffing is bit dry.
The quantity of food is not really ok either, I ordered a extra large pho($22ish per bowl), and it feels like a medium size compared to any pho from Toronto area, the only thing realated to the 'extra large' is the size of the bowl.
We went there around 7pm, it was not busy, I don't understand how could you made two mistakes for our order. Also, I picked a piece of cilantro from my bowl to the dish in front of that lady's face, so stop lying to my wife in the review and saying there were no cilantro in my pho.
Tbh, we were so excited when we find out this new pho place, but everything in there just so disappointing, I was gonna let this unpleasant experience go, but they are arguing with my wife in the review and also lying. I guess it's just too hard for you guys to apologize for the mistakes you...
Read moreWish we could of tried the food. But the service on this day at around 530 pm was appaling. I work two jobs this was my only day off i wanted to take my mother out.. and the lady serving was awful at it. I've worked restaurants from vancouver all the way back to this end of Canada and I thought it might be nice to see if it was on par with the pho restaurants in vancouver. But even the dive pho restaurants on hastings in the rough end of vancouver had better service. And they want premium pay???
She gave us half glasses of p1ss warm water and despite being ready for several minutes voicing we were ready to roder kept ignoring us.. there was literally only two. Other patrons who were already served absolutely no one else in the restaurant. Rags all over by the bathroom sink in the lsdies room and no broown towl in the dispenser so i guess the shammy clothes surrounding the sink most places use for clesnig was to dry my hands i dont know but I won't be there again. I liked the place when it was the hourglass but after how they treated me and my mom who already had to wait for her mothers day outing due to me working. I won't be returning and I top cab drivers 9 dollars and it was my forst time in a resurant in months 9n the side of a patron, she had no intention of serving us so maybe racist bwcaise towards brown people i dont know. but her boss should talk to her about treating guests with respect regardless of...
Read moreCame here with my friend from Hamilton. He usually has Pho at least a couple times a back home, but had been stuck in Blind River with me for two weeks with no Pho around for 200 km. Got to the restaurant just before closing, but the the lady at the door greeted us with a big smile and led us to our table. We ordered enough food to feed about 4 normal people, plus some more to take home. E erything not only met but far exceeded our expectations for quality it was delicious and very big portions. Food came out before we could finish a quick smoke outaide (less than 10 mins easily). Crab rangoon, two bowls of pho, and some banh mi's. They catered to all the requests my Pho-critic friend asked of them, even left one of the buns for the to go sandwiches packed separate from the rest of the sandwich ingredients, so that it would still be toasted and crispy when we reheated it at home. Also, midway through our meal a gentleman from the back came to the table to check on everything and make sure it was all to our liking. Very kind guy and had a nice little chat too before he thanked us and let us know if there was anything else we wanted to just ask. At the end of the day, my pho critic friend said the past week of hardwork and no-Pho, this meal made it all worth...
