Last weekend, I went through the Wendy's drive-thru just before midnight. I ordered nuggets, and the employee mentioned over the intercom that it would be about 5 minute wait, which I was fine with.
When I pulled up to the window, I paid and was told to pull forward. Since it was late, and there wasn't another person or vehicle in sight, I asked if I could just stay at the window. I've been in this situation at Wendy's before, and they've completely forgotten to bring out my food. Rather than risk dealing with that again, I didn't see any issue with me waiting at the window.
The employee told me that it's because of their "service times" and there'd be an issue if someone came behind me. I was going to try to reason with her and offer to move if someone came, but she rudely shut the window on me mid-sentence, and went to tell the manager. Then for about 15 seconds, the manager just glared at me from her position inside, about 30 feet away, while a couple of the employees laughed like I was being absurd or something.
So when the manager finally came over, she opens the window and just says, "Hi". After a silent pause where I expected her to continue talking, I ask if she's come to tell me to move. She asks me to repeat what I said. I do, and she acts like she can't understand me again. So, at this point, I'm a little impatient, so I just ask "what?" She says, "I said 'hi.'" So I reciprocate, and after all that, she just tells me to move forward.
At this point, with what I can only assume was the manager being purposefully rude, and the staff all laughing behind her, I no longer trusted that they'd handle my food properly and I asked for my money back. The manager handed it to me with an attitude-laden, "Have a good day," and I left.
This was definitely one of the dumbest situations I've ever had to deal with at any fast food place. Rather than listening to what I was saying, I was just dismissed and laughed at by the staff. I really don't think I was being unreasonable, and I wasn't looking to get in an argument over it. I just wanted to get my food and be on my way. For the most part, I can make peace with poor customer service from younger employees (you can't really expect much), but when managers start being jerks, I'll take my business elsewhere.

Read moreWendy’s in Grimsby is a hit or a miss. My visit on the day of this writing was somewhat of a hit. The staff were polite and the service was good. This is at the end of the day fast food.
I ordered a baconator with some extra toppings. If you ask for extra of any one topping it’s never done at all. This burger pictured had extra onions. Looks like regular to me. Compare that to other fast food chains it’s way off. The burgers are pre-made and then put together quickly. It’s the same at all places. Your burger patty wont be hot. It’ll be the same temp as other places. No wow moment. You come here due to convenience.
The chilli is the star of the show here. It’s nice and hot plus it’s gluten free without fillers. The fries (not pictured) have been disappointing at Wendy’s as they continue to change them since the passing of their founder Dave Thomas. Same with the buns where the old school buns were better. The spicy chicken sandwich was ok as well. It seems they’ve taken a step backwards with all the changes they made as opposed to their competition. This isn’t the franchisee fault but a corporate fault.
The pop machines are interesting with an incredible amount of different flavours. When ordering a combo choose small as it’s quite large.
The location is fine for a Wendy’s and you should be confident ordering here. A lot of the negative reviews are done by individuals with 1 review or...
Read moreSo first of all let me start off by saying I am a chef at the very top level you could imagine yet every now and then I do appreciate a great burger. Unfortunately this visit was full of mistakes starting with I had a bar code for free nuggets through an offer on the app and after yall scanned it I somehow still got charged for the nuggets. Next when I opened my single with cheese there was no tomato on it. So I went back to the drive thru and they informed me they are out of tomatoes for the night but had diced tomatoes that could give me. The correct call is to make a new burger with the diced tomatoes on it not ask me to do your job for you. Absolutely ridiculous had one of my chefs pulled this crap during service they would’ve surely been sent home. Get better. And look at my review history I never leave bad reviews but this was the most ridiculous experience I’ve ever had as far as customer service goes and of course they do it to the customer that is a chef. I hope someone contacts my to rectify the situation. If you don’t it shows a lot about your establishment. Worst experience I’ve EVER had at a fast food joint! By far! If you are out of tomatoes you should notify customers before they order and if you mess up the bar code so it’s now no longer available on my app you should fix it not make me pay for it. Get...
