Seems a bit hit and miss.
One time I ate the sweet and spicy chicken coco bap with kimchi and it was fantastic. There was more than enough sauce.
Next time I ordered a honey garlic chicken coco bap and the amount of sauce was very low. Some pieces of chicken had no sauce on it at all.
I called the restaurant to ask about this and the staff member told me to ask for extra sauce next time. He also said that different chefs make it differently each time. Not very good customer service. If I ordered honey garlic chicken and some of the chicken is plain, that's incorrect and this should have been admitted and rectified.
I should also be getting, more or less, the same thing each time I place the same order. Some small differences will always occur but not having any sauce on 4-5 pieces of chicken is a major difference.
When I complained about this, the staff member said he would talk to his manager and call me back in ten minutes.
I did not receive a call.

I've written the owner's reply to my comments above just in case he deletes it.
"Sorry, we can't give free food. We checked camera your Coco bap was good. If you want to extra sauce tell us before. You ate everything after then ask refund & free items. That's not possible. That's not how life works. Sorry for inconvenience. "
REPLY TO OWNER: I am not sure what camera the business is referring to but I got much less sauce in the second coco bap compared to the first one.
I did not want extra sauce. I wanted the regular amount of sauce that I ordered. When I order honey garlic chicken I expect all the pieces of chicken to have honey garlic sauce on it. Less sauce as a whole and 4-5 pieces having no sauce is not honey garlic chicken.
I did not have enough time left in my lunch break to drive all the way back, get a new Coco Bap, drive back, and finish the new Coco Bap. This is why I chose to finish the incorrect order and not drive back. I called to say that the order was wrong and that something should be done about it. I did not ask for a refund, I just asked if something free (even something small) could be given because the mistake was yours.
I am well aware of how life works, thank you very much. When you pay for a Big Mac, I'm sure you'll be irritated if your sandwich has half a burger patty. Burger sandwiches should have full burger patties and honey garlic chicken should be fully honey garlic chicken. That's how life works. You should learn to admit your mistakes and respect your valued customers who give you their hard-earned money expecting consistent, good food and good customer service.
To be honest, if I received a phone call from Coco Chicken as they promised (even if it was later than the 10 minutes they originally committed to) and an apology was given that would have been great. If I had heard in a polite and courteous manner that the company policy is not to give a refund or new food without the old food being returned, I could have been fine with it. But the lack of basic courtesy and respect was not expected or appreciated.
I am downgrading this rating to one star and I will not be visiting Coco...
Read moreHad to go to Guelph and was checking last minute for any recommended restaurants. This one stood out to me so we chose this.
First of all, kudos to Guelph for having 2hrs free parking downtown. Simple concept that other towns and cities can’t seem to grasp to support the downtown businesses.
Anyway the service was decent; they also have a digital ordering thing if it’s busy. We received our food relatively quickly and wow… was not expecting it to look better than the advertised photos.
Chicken Sandwich was massive, essentially had 2 pieces of breast on it. We got the white meat which I’d recommend. It was so tender that half of the chicken fell off but the sandwich with what was remaining was still a lot and we ate the fallen piece as a tender. Coleslaw on it was excellent and the Hot & Spicy sauce was top notch. Not too spicy so most people should be able to handle it.
We also got Popcorn Chicken and Waffle Fries as they said the popcorn chicken was white meat and it’s was! So crispy and so much in that box! Also got some Coco Sauce and Spicy Mayo. Coco Sauce smelled like a Caesar Dressing, it was light and tangy. Spicy Mayo tastes exactly like the ones you get with Sushi. Waffle Fries were pretty good too, they seemed thinner than usual ones which I liked.
Highly recommend, the only disappointing part is I likely won’t be anywhere close to Guelph again to...
Read moreWe've ordered takeout from here a few times now and it's always been pretty good. There are a good variety of options available, but I would especially recommend the Coco Bap, which is chicken, fried egg, and rice with a side of kimchi (a sort of fermented cabbage dish). I ordered mine with sweet and spicy sauce, which wasn't all too spicy despite the name. I would definitely recommend either this sauce or the honey garlic sauce. I haven't tried the honey garlic sauce myself, however my brother did and he said it was quite good. I think the chicken was also topped with a mayonnaise (possibly Kewpie mayonnaise?) that added a certain tanginess that complimented the flavour of the chicken and sauce nicely. The highlight of the dish was the chicken, which was fresh and well seasoned, a slight crunch as well but not overly crispy. I think that for what you pay, you are given a pretty generous amount of chicken. There was one fried egg included, which was nice, though it was cooked a little too long one time and consequently the yolk had mostly solidified and was not at all runny. That is a minor complaint, I think. The egg is supposed to be mixed into the rice, though I did not do this. The kimchi was a neat addition, adding a bit of variety to the overall flavour of the dish. Overall, I think this is a nice place to get very good food at a more...
