Disappointed by Miscommunication, Not the Food
I usually enjoy going to Gino’s Pizza for a quick bite, and I was looking forward to grabbing a simple cheese pizza combo with a drink and dip, something I’ve had before for around $7.30. Unfortunately, my recent visit was a bit frustrating. I ordered exactly that: a cheese pizza, a drink, and a dip. But because I didn’t say the exact name of the combo, I was charged separately.
I ended up paying $7.00 for the pizza and dip, and when I mentioned I asked for a drink, the staff insisted I hadn’t, which I definitely did. I had to pay an additional $2.50 for the drink, meaning I handed over a $10 bill and only walked away with a dollar in change. All for a meal that should’ve cost about $7.30 if the combo was applied.
The food itself was fine, classic Gino’s, but the experience felt dismissive. It would help if staff were a bit more understanding or clarified orders instead of assuming. I now know to say the exact combo name, but clearer communication on both sides would go a long way in improving the...
Read moreI ordered three pizzas online yesterday afternoon, and was told in the confirmation email that they would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived at the pizza shop almost an hour later, they only just started making the pizzas, claiming they were busy. I checked with them that the pizzas would have a whole wheat crust (as indicated on my online order). Not only were my pizzas extremely late, but they didn't have whole wheat crusts.
Please do better. If you make a mistake, take responsibility for it - "oops, we missed the order and we'll get to it now" and "oops, we missed that it's supposed to be whole wheat crust." Acknowledgement feels much better to me as a customer than denying that...

When we went in the man at the counter was extremely rude telling us we can't get the walk-in special unless we called it in or ordered online. We showed him the special on the website that clearly says "Walk-In" and he refused to give us the offer, keying in what we wanted and demanding that we pay him even though he wouldn't give us the special walk-in offer. So if you like poor customer service, head over to Gino's at willow west mall in Guelph. I know I'll never visit that...
