Mary Brown's Chicken — Restaurant in Guelph

I have to update my review and not because things are great still...the last couple months something changed significantly and we can no longer support this location and We have been regular customers since this location opened. This is the second time our taters have had no coating...they are potato wedges with no coating or seasoning so they are soggy and flavourless. Mary Browns are known for their taters...the first time I emailed head office and didn't receive a reply so I am updating my review here. I ordered the wings tonight and they taste like they were cooked yesterday and reheated...every wing has the broken veins inside it so its that dark colour and tastes like blood. I spent almost 20 dollars on the wings and could not even eat them and they were supposed to be my dinner. I don't know what had happened, I have noticed a complete staff change, but others have complained about the quality now compared to before. I ordered 13 pieces spicy chicken only from Clair road branch. I always been a customer of this branch from day one. But recently something gone serious wrong in their kitchen and the quality has extremely gone devastating. My kids could not eat cuz they put the spice level extremely hot like thrice the time what I used to get before. The chicken was not only extremely spicy but given raw or semi cooked.My kids could not eat and it has to go in the trash. I just called the branch to inform and the manager Zaym said he will do 15% off for next order when I come next time although that was not my intention. Few days later I went to place an order Mr zaym refused that 15% off by saying it has to be the same order or I can leave with out discount. That was terrible customer service experience and I told him I won’t come back here and he said who cares. Shame to loose a loyal customer since day one of your opening. I wish owner can read this and get the manager changed. Anyways I will go to Eramosa Rd branch as it is also halal and way better...

I called this location as i was coming back into Guelph in order to get some chicken after a long day, i call the store 3x with no answer until the 4th time i call. The guy who answers the phone was nice at first until i started ordering, i told him it was going to be a big order before going ahead and ordering and he was OK with that until well, he HUNG UP ON ME. I call back and ask why? He says “we close soon and don’t have the food for your order”. I called around 8:15? They close at 9.. He being so RUDE and didn’t even bother to apologize, when I asked to speak with the manager i get, “i can’t help, you can call again tomorrow and place your order then” and then guess what, he hangs up on me AGAIN. Rude employee considering the fact that i am a regular and enjoy eating from here as well as coming in and seeing the female at the counter who ALWAYS is very welcoming and friendly unlike the man who i spoke to on the phone (who i feel is the same man who doesn’t wear his mask while working).
