This was my first time visiting Polestar Hearth and I can’t believe it took me so long to discover them! I came on a Saturday, in which they open at 10am. I arrived at 10:05 and there was a line in and out side of the place (always a great sign). We waited a few minutes to get inside and from the start, the smell was amazing! Fresh bread, discounted day old bread, pastries, and more! The staff were incredibly friendly and our total time waiting to check out was about 10 mins. The loaves pictures are the Country Loaf, Chipotle Cheddar, and the sourdough cinnamon roll with apples. Everything was delicious and one of the best fresh bread in the city (i’d argue number one!) I would recommend for anyone needed fresh bread or wanting to try out a new spot. Thanks for offering such a great product!

I had a wonderful experience at this bakery. I ordered the whole grain bread, which was fresh, hearty, and full of flavor. The Spanish feta and cheese croissant was a standout perfectly flaky, rich with buttery layers, and the savory filling was simply addictive. The double double brownies were deeply chocolatey and incredibly satisfying, with just the right balance of richness and sweetness. On top of that, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their amazing selection.

Best bread, period! (3 years ago) Edit Nov. 2021 - Prices up, inconsistent product. Hearth sesame loaf very airy/full of holes, have been advised by bakery that this is intentional and to try the pan loaf which is more dense. Seems to be an issue in the last 3-6 months, I have been a customer her for over 5 years. Not satisfied with customer service, will be shopping here less.

I'm fortunate enough to be able to shop local, and Polestar is a favourite. The wares are always, ALWAYS top notch. The service is so friendly and the customer atmosphere is so dang nice - folks chat in line, smile and really appreciate the amazing products they pick up. This weekend, I bought a few loaves, coffee beans and honey.

Unfortunately, I placed my honey precariously in the back seat of my car and it rolled out and broke. Totally my fault, and while I kicked myself for it, I was concerned with the broken jar in their parking lot. I cleaned it as best as possible in terms of glass and let the staff know inside that a jar had broken in their parking lot. And they did the nicest things, and most appreciated (and unexpected) thing, they offered me a new jar!! had no expectations of that, I was more concerned about the mess (thank goodness it wasn't July as the ants would be out force!!!). Yet, here we are. Me, a dummy for not paying attention when I placed it my back seat, to this amazing place being so nice about it. A delightful gentleman in line was like "they are the best, here" and I couldn't agree more. Amazing bread, amazing babka, and because of their kindness, amazing honey on said...

Time for an update to my review of this place. I still like them and shop here every now and then. But it's a fading shadow of what it once was. They're open 4 days a week, at 10 am! So, forget about getting breakfast here. This is a decent beard factory in our neighborhood, not a bakery in the normal sense. They make a lot more bread now, which you can buy in other places too. Their prices rised much beyond inflation rate, and their bread is much more airated now, so you pay for a nice crust and lots of air bubbles. Sliced, it can't hold much sandwich fillings. The nice espresso machine is gone, and coffee comes from a thermos. Their old pastry chef left, and they tried and only partially succeeded in recreating their signature line of croissants and other pastries. Lots to wish for! I still shop there and like them and their products, but I'll be delusional to think this is as great bakery. I know they can be better, because we still have other decent...
