Title: A Fusion Delight with a Vibrant Vibe! Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rise & Shine, the hidden gem of a breakfast place in Guelph that brings together the best of Caribbean and Canadian flavors. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The menu offers a delightful blend of traditional Canadian breakfast favorites infused with the unique spices and flavors of the Caribbean. The fusion of these two culinary worlds is truly a match made in breakfast heaven! I opted for their signature Caribbean-Canadian breakfast platter, and it did not disappoint. The ackee and saltfish paired harmoniously with fluffy pancakes, creating a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds. What sets Rise & Shine apart, aside from their mouthwatering food, is their commitment to affordability. It's refreshing to find a place where you can savor a delectable meal without breaking the bank. Their prices are reasonable and perfectly aligned with the quality and quantity they offer. The staff at Rise & Shine are a testament to their dedication to customer satisfaction. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve, they added a personal touch that made my visit all the more enjoyable. Whether you're a fan of Caribbean cuisine, Canadian classics, or simply looking for an extraordinary breakfast experience, Rise & Shine is the place to be. With its inviting ambiance, exceptional fusion dishes, and pocket-friendly prices, this spot has earned a permanent place on my list of favorite breakfast joints in Guelph. If you're craving a culinary adventure that marries two cultures in the most delicious way possible, look no further than Rise & Shine. It's a true testament to the magic that happens when diverse flavors come together on a plate. Don't miss out on the chance to indulge in this Caribbean-Canadian breakfast haven – it's a rise and shine experience worth waking up for!

I am a huge breakfast lover and I get the breakfast skillet everytime I can since I don't make those at home. I was excited to try this place but left very disappointed. The skillet was mostly inedible for me.. I ate the eggs and maybe 1/3rd of the rest. The hashbrowns are very largely cut and unseasoned. The sausage was some type of smoked, seemingly precooked, sausage that was too salty to eat. I was expecting the typical breakfast sausage I saw come out on other plates but the skillet has a different sausage. The onions (and I Love onions) were very largely and thickly cut and the fresh peppers were most definitely not fresh but were the jarred red peppers that are soggy and not meant to be in a breakfast dish. My husband had the waffle, which on the menu said it had strawberry compote but it came out dry and not even with butter. He said it was chewy and not like any other restaurant waffle he has had. We wanted to like it so bad...the server was friendly but so slow and it wasn't busy. We sat waiting for out bill for almost 30 mns as she did not come out to the patio for that span of time. Maybe It was an off day, but we wouldn't return as I am not a fan of paying for food that I can't even eat or enjoy. We didn't send it back as nothing was uncooked or wrong, it just wasn't to my liking so we just wouldn't return.

I visited Rise & Shine to try their Caribbean menu items. I had high expectations prior , unfortunately I was dissatisfied with my meal. I ordered the doubles, curry goat and jerk chicken. I received the food after about 30-40 minutes as service was extremely slow. The doubles were not authentic trini doubles as I’m used to. The dough was fried but it was similar to a dry pita and had a floury / oily taste. It had channa, potato and tamarind sauce with cucumber. The cucumber did not mesh well with the flavour of the double. The curry goat was very oily , mostly bone but had good flavour and went well with the coleslaw. However the rice was hard and bland. Same with the jerk chicken - the entire dish was covered with a sriracha-type sauce that overpowered everything else. I spent $60 for 3 people, which was not worth the cost in my opinion. Overall , I would not visit again.

What an amazing gem this place is! We found this place coincidentally on our way back from a 3 day getaway to a resort and this was by far the best meal we had that weekend. It's a busy place so it's a little noisy but it was bright and open with friendly staff and a tripical theme inside. The food was tasty and unique which is wonderful when you want to try something new. The fries were a bit thick for our tastes but they weren't dry as often happens at some place. I had never had Chilli soup before but I really enjoyed it and the steak sandwich was awesome. My husband found the club sandwich filling, which rarely happens lol. Coffee was really good as well. Many might find the prices a little on the higher side for some items but price to value comparison was worth it to us.

I came here with my partner recently when we visited Guelph. I ordered the veggie butter chicken and my partner ordered the jerk chicken. We also had the fries with garlic mayo. Everything was absolutely delicious and beyond our expectations. I love how everything has a little bit of an Indian twist. The flavors are incredible, the portions are generous, the service is exceptional and the prices are so reasonable! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone, as I'm sure you'll find something amazing on the menu for you. Thank you for topping off our weekend and making it amazing! Much appreciation to the chefs and all the staff! Will definitely be returning soon :)

We went early enough for the breakfast and lunch menu, but they did not offer it. There was only the dinner menu. We ordered the doubles, oxtail and goat. The doubles were so delicious. I loved the curry Chana and the dough! The presentation of the goat and oxtail were nice. It was served with the coleslaw and it was crunchy and so good. I didn't like the oxtail so much. It tasted sweeter than what I'm used to, the pieces were small and not as tender. I did like the curry goat though. I would come back for the doubles and curry goat again. I also hear the restaurant has dancing at night. I would like to come back. The place has a great island feel!
