Wendy's — Restaurant in Guelph

I am updating to the below review I made a little while ago as it seems I can't write more than one review for the same place. First off, as I mentioned below, though this time a young gentleman taking orders and being the point person at the window - he was fantastic. Zero issues at all. Very courteuos, and always wants to make sure the order correct. He conforms it and covers his bases. 12/10 for him. He does not however fill the orders. The people behind the scenes do. And I come here often, and 80 - 90% of the time something is wrong with my order. Always! That is not a ratio to brag about. The other day I paid $24 for 1 combo and an additional 3 chicken strips. Had I not checked my bag, I would have left paying 24 plus dollars for a smaller combo and missing extra chicken strips. The lady behind the scenes came to the wondow demanding what was wrong and I politely explained but she remained very turse. Somehow it was my fault. Today, I checked my order in my bag to make sure all was correct. It was so I left, but as I took a sip of my drink however - it was wrong. Come on! Not only now do I need to check my bag before driving off, I have to now sip my drink before taking off to make sure it is correct. It never used to be this way. I am sorry, but it is not a difficult job. I was 14 working at McDonald's back in the day and happy to say my accuracy was spot on. Always triple checked my orders and handed them out with enthusiasm and a smile. Reminder, the young gentleman at the window was flawless. This has nothing to do with him. He deserves better.

The young girl at the drive thru window was perfect! Nothing I am about to note here has anything to do with her. She was the perfect customer service person. Behind the scenes needs a lot of work and needs to be much more careful with orders. Many times I’ve been to this location and the order has been wrong or incorrect where they have forgotten something. I highly recommend before you drive off look inside your bag and make sure everything is correct. I received an order with a sandwich and fries and honey mustard sauce. My original order was the chicken strips combo. I don’t know what the sandwich was and I don’t know why honey mustard sauce would be required for a sandwich. Lol. So it’s a good thing I didn’t drive off. They couldn’t take back the order that they had given me, so I got free food out of it, which I won’t eat, but I finally received my other order after meticulously checking that bag as well. The people behind the scenes need to take a lot more care with their orders. They didn’t even look apologetic when they looked my way. It’s like they really don’t care. Which is a shame, a real shame. But the girl at the window, she was phenomenal and very lovely and very kind so I certainly did not put upon my dismay to her, I was being very gracious and polite to her, but the behind-the-scenes people need a lot of work. I’ve come to this Wendy’s many times and more often and not the orders are incorrect or there’s been something wrong. More time and dedication needs to be taken to fulfilling...

This location has been open for over a month now, and I have been waiting for them to get their stuff together....but i'm going to give up now (and i strongly encourage you to do the same). I have visited the drive through about a dozen times now, and every single time has been a terrible experience.

Three times they have forgotten sour cream with my baked potato (they asked if i needed when i placed the order and I said YES). Once they randomly added chives to my bacon and cheese potato. Twice they have failed to include the ordered dipping sauce with chicken strips, and twice a straw was not included with my drink. Three times i was given an entirely different burger than i ordered, and five times my burger included ketchup and pickles after being ordered without. Three times i have received the wrong pop. And every time i order a Large drink, it is 2 inches below the top. So i'm not sure what the point of ordering a large is when you're obviously getting the same as a medium.

Every once and awhile i will catch a mistake before leaving, and politely ask them to fix, and they aren't even pleasant about it! Once i asked for the dipping sauce, sour cream, and straw that apparently weren't included in the bag and the woman went and got them and put them in my hand without saying a single word!! Super awkward.

I have no idea what is going on here, but this is absolutely insane. I understand it's a new location and people are still being trained. But at some point it really becomes unethical to take people's money for an advertised meal and not deliver over and over again. I did write to head office last week but i never heard back, so i guess they are not concerned either.

Do not waste your time and money going to this location, it is a complete an utter...

Wendy's Canada deserves a standing ovation! Forget what you think you know – this wasn't just a pit stop; it was a delightful little escape with seriously good eats.

Walking in, the vibe was instantly warmer than your average fast-food joint. Think cozy lighting, maybe some cool Canadian-themed artwork subtly placed, and comfortable seating that actually makes you want to linger. The air even smelled fantastic – that perfect blend of sizzling burgers and fresh-baked bun goodness. It felt less like a quick bite and more like a casual, welcoming spot to unwind.

And the food? Oh. My. Goodness. The Baconator was its usual glorious self – that perfect, juicy patty stacked high with crispy bacon and melty cheese. But the real star of the show for me was the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Forget dry and bland; this was a flavour explosion! The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, with a satisfying kick that wasn't overpowering. The toppings were fresh and crisp, and the bun was soft and held everything together beautifully. Seriously, it's a contender for the best spicy chicken sandwich out there!

Even the little things stood out. The fries were hot and perfectly salted, and the Frosty? Creamy, dreamy perfection as always. You could tell there was a real attention to detail, from the quality of the ingredients to the friendly smiles of the staff.
