Today we had the cashew chicken which I put on a bed of rice. It’s worth noting that if you plan to do this it easily feeds two and to get the small bowl as that’s a massive amount of rice. Nice rich flavour and was def not spicy which I liked.
Whomever is cutting the vegetables needs to cut them down to 1”x1” max (human bite sized pieces). Very inconvenient to eat.
I also had the Tom kha soup which tasted good. Very sweet coconut milk taste (never had anything like it) with chicken. Again the oversized cut green onion and massive superheated 2” tomato chunk was a bit of a turnoff for both of us. Literally had to take the tomato out of the soup so that we could eat it (cooled down) the soup itself was massive so no complaints there.
Wife had a Tom Yum Soup which she thought was good overall and had the pad kee mow. (She likes the spicy).
Daughter had the pad Thai chicken but wasn’t fond of the tofu (but kudos to her for trying something new nothing on the chef). PS - You may want a plate for the noodle plates as they are piping hot.
Again reminder the portions are huge and remember some of the dishes do not come with noodles or rice.
Overall the price was perfect for a delicious taste of Thai.
The service was awkward where I had barely finished my soup and the waitress brought over my meal 8 minutes before my daughter who only had the pad Thai. Wife had her meal 4 minutes later. We all waited until my daughter had her meal. It would have been nice for everyone to get their meal at the same time or at least the child first as we had appetizers. The menu verbal depiction of spice was...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience with my order. There were red food stains and even a piece of rice stuck to the receipt, which had been stapled to the paper bag—an unpleasant and unsanitary start. The small plastic container of peanuts was disturbingly warm, even warmer than the Pad Thai itself, which arrived cold.
The Pad Thai was underwhelming. It was overly sweet, lacked balance, and had very little overall flavour. Even more concerning was a strange tingling sensation on the side of my mouth while eating. At the bottom of the container, I found a mysterious brown liquid I’ve never encountered in Pad Thai—not in Halifax or anywhere else. I’m not sure if that’s normal, but it didn’t look right.
The food tasted off, as if it wasn’t fresh and may have been prepared in a dirty wok. Not long after eating, I started to feel sick, which only confirmed my concerns. Unfortunately, I can’t think of anything positive to say about this experience.
Update: Due to the poor hygiene and the fact that I felt unwell after eating, I requested a refund through the delivery app. Initially, customer service had difficulty reaching the restaurant. When they finally did, they were told I would have to wait until Monday (this was on a Friday) because the owner was on vacation. On Monday, I received confirmation that the owner had approved a full refund, and it is currently being processed. I expect to receive it within the standard...
Read moreTable for two. We ordered fresh spring rolls to start and they were very good. We both ordered the Pad Thai for mains. We were both very disappointed. I ate most of mine, even though it was sickeningly sweet. I didn't complain, because I am hopelessly Canadian and it has to be dangerously under cooked or aggressively bad for me to tell someone I don't like their food. My wife barely touched hers and when the waitress asked her if she wanted it packed up to go, my wife said no. She also advised her it was too sweet and starchy. The waitress said "Oh Sorry" and took the food away. She dropped off the bill a moment later and had charged my wife for the food she hadn't eaten. Not ones to make a fuss, we paid the bill and just decided we would not return. My wife and I both love Thai food and have visited Thailand many times. We know good Thai food. This wasn't it. Again, I am only speaking of the Pad Thai as I haven't been back. It may have been an off day for them. Also my auto-correct is changing...
