Really disappointed. I was, until 2 weeks ago, a good customer of Cheese Curds.
Approximately 2 weeks ago, I placed a 'to go' order, well-before requested pickup time -- approximately 45 minutes. Upon early arrival, I patiently waited a few minutes on line. While on line, I received a phone call -- 5 minutes before the time that the order was to have been completed -- from Cheese Curds, advising that my order was out of stock. The Cheese Curds associate on the phone advised that they had only just received my order at that moment.
Following inquiry to the company, I discovered that this statement was untrue -- that the order had been received several minutes before, but that the shop had failed to contact me. As a result, I missed dinner, as I was heading to a movie. If Cheese Curds had been more considerate, I would have known about any alleged shortage within a few minutes of my order, thus providing me with the opportunity to seek out additional dining options.
No customer likes feeling disrespected and -- in this case -- the subject of a lie. I contacted the company's offices via email, patiently explained the situation, and received a response from the marketing director. As consolation, he apologized and offered 15% off a future order for two people. I was a bit stunned, as someone who has interacted within the restaurant industry for some years, at the secondary fail. When a customer is disrespected and lied to, a restaurant should take appropriate measures to preserve the relationship. Instead, the company threw the value of "tax" at me. Consequently, I will not be returning to Cheese Curds or any of its...
Read moreI use to love this place my favorite thing to eat here was their Buffalo chicken poutine, but I can tell you now save you money cause this place when down hill.
Yesterday me and the hubby went in to grab some food and I ordered my favorite and he order a small poutine and burger. As I watched the cook making our food, I see him touching our food before he cooks it with bare hand and after he cooks it with bare hands with nowno inbetween. Touching the kitchen tools, then food counters and wiping his hand on his apron never seen him wash his hands once.
We get the food home (i live 5 minute drive away) the gravy on my poutine is burnt and like jello, on the hubby's poutine there is a hair on it. Right in the trash the food goes. Needless to say we will not be back to pay 35$ for the food and get burnt food with hair in it no thanks! Maybe someday we will be back but not for a bit it turned us right...
Read moreThe cleanliness of the place requires work. There were many tables not available and they were stacked kind of messily on the side next to tables that were available. There were food bits on the table and around the floor of the few seats that were available. It took 15 minutes between ordering and being called to put toppings on the burger during 7 pm on a week day. There are ways to order online or on the app to avoid this delay. The additional toppings didn’t look very fresh either. A cheeseburger and a regular poutine cost $20.41, which is on the higher side of fast food establishments. Taste was alright and the curry sauce available made it an interesting burger to be had. All staff members were not wearing a mask when we went in on Apr 6. Plenty of parking as it’s in the same plaza...
