Grichi is a hidden gem that I discovered on Instagram, and I am so glad I did! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly individual who made me feel right at home. They took the time to chat with me and shared their extensive knowledge of the menu, making recommendations that truly elevated my dining experience. Their genuine warmth and enthusiasm added a personal touch to my visit.

The food at Grichi is nothing short of exceptional. I was treated to a sample of their garlic potatoes, and I was instantly blown away by the explosion of flavors. Every bite was a harmonious blend of spices that left me craving more. I opted for their shawarma wrap, and it was a true delight. I think I saw something on social media about this spot and decided I needed to stop in and try it.

As soon as you walk in you are greeted by some amazing aromas, and bright colours.

The owner was there, ready to help me order as he could tell it was my first time in.

I knew what my partner was getting, but I took a minute to figure out what I wanted.

Friend had the Illegal Bowl. And I ended up getting the 1/4 chicken trio. Really wanted to try those garlic potatoes, and I asked for the chicken to be coated in their lemon pepper flavouring.

My car smelled amazing in the ride home. Couldn’t get there fast enough.

Got the bag open, food out, fork in hand and dug in. The flavour was amazing, the chicken cooked just right so it was juicy and flavourful.

The potatoes were fantastic and the rice was nice too. Very filling, and cleared out the takeout container!

Will definitely be back to try one...

Halifax Halal food is a disastrous industry compared to bigger cities. I expect a good portion and a good tasting food when I think of eating outside but this image explains it all. Firstly they have served the food on a disposable plate that you would find in a grocery store. The chicken is dry and bland and the rice is just yellow in color with no flavour in it. Same goes with the potatoes.

The portion does not justify the price but even if I skip portions atleast the food should be something worth calling tasty.

As for the place, the floors were never moped I guess so greasy and the washroom is horrible.

The owners need to step up and do quality control if they want to stay in business.

No more Grichi for me as the quality has degraded very badly than the first day...
