. ordered there a few weeks ago, food was decent. there's lots of Chinese available in the area but we figured we would get them again. went to their website (which had been down for a while) and opened the menu to call and order. ordered for pick up. based on what was ordered, total was approx $44. husband picked up and came out and the receipt said $64. I went in just to politely ask about it, thinking they charged us for something we didn't order, and the owner cut me off talking to the cashier to tell me there's a notice on the website that says prices subject to change. I scrolled on the front page and it wasn't there. he then showed me on his phone while scrolling and clicking where it says it, at the bottom of another page in very tiny print. I said that it wasn't on the front page or easy to find. I'm just confused how the price is $20 more. he got all defensive and begun raising his voice at me telling me it's not his fault and giving all these excuses about how he tried to submit for a new website and it didn't work so that's why they put the notice. he confirmed that he was fully aware the prices are dramatically different and nobody confirmed the price with me on the phone. they kept the old menu up instead of taking it down. he started giving me attitude and told me "idk what you want me to do, it's right there on the front page and it's on you for not reading", then told me there's no way he'd refund me the difference but would give me a couple dollars back. I clarified that if I was told on the phone what the total was I would have canceled. he just kept saying it was my fault and he would only give me a couple dollars back. I told him just to cancel and I'd like a refund, so surprisingly he gave me cash back. terrible service, knowing the prices are so different and to argue with someone about it in front of the entire restaurant. I've never been spoken to so poorly by staff at a restaurant. definitely won't be...
Read moreI am so sad to leave this review! I LOVE their pho - it’s the best I’ve found in the HRM! The thing that completely ruins Fong Sing for me is the service. They are ALWAYS super short staffed with only one server who has to also answer the phone for takeout orders. We’ve sat for over half an hour without even a “hello” on numerous occasions. We kept excusing it because the pho was so good when it would eventually come. I’ve seen people get up and leave due to the wait, wait for an hour then get the wrong orders, etc. Tonight was the last straw. We ordered takeout. When we got there, we gave our name and were told it wasn’t ready yet (it had been almost half an hour since we called, but that wasn’t a surprise) so I went to the car and my fiancé waited inside. After another 20 minutes (50 in total since the order was made) the server noticed that he was still there waiting and asked for the name on the order again. When he told her, she said “oh, this is yours”. The bag of food had been sitting there the whole time. By the time we got the food home (5 minute drive) the noodles were a...
Read moreTried this place out as we felt like experimenting. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I went on a Friday evening at about 4:20 and the place was empty not a single person eating, sat and orderd combo 6. Waitress was very slow and just wondering around cleaning already clean tables. Seemed like I was troubling her when I asked for water or even the utensils I had to request when I got my food. The food was all tasteless and just not enjoyable at all. If I wasn't starving I would have sent it back and went elsewhere. Chicken Chow Mein was wet and greasy with no taste at all, chicken fried rice must have been from yesterday because the tiny chicken chunks had turned into gum they were so chewy, and the honey garlic spare ribs were 90% bone and 5% fat. 10/10 would NEVER go back. Never even got asked how the food tasted so I had to bring it up my self when I was paying. She didn't seem to care at all. Always good to try new places but this is NOT the...
