This was maybe my 5th time visiting this cafe.
I had a good overall experience but had moments where I was disappointed.
The first moment was when I ordered their tiramisu and found that their tiramisu is not a traditional tiramisu and tastes like its from a mass distributor.
The second time was when I ordered a large iced matcha latte and they made a mistake of making it regular size. Once they realized, I saw that the barista poured it to a large cup and just added more milk resulting it to taste like watered down matcha and you could visually see that it was extremely light. When I went up and mentioned this, they added more matcha to my drink. This would’ve been fine but even with the addition of more matcha, it still tasted very watered down. I then later realized someone sitting behind us who ordered the same thing except there was a big difference in the color of our drink.
The steps they took to fix their mistake was a disappointment and I hope that this doesn’t happen to someone else.
Overall, it’s a good place but the barista does not seem like he wants to be there. For management if you want to investigate further, this happened on may 7th around 4:45pm. (Although I’m pretty sure that the guy I am writing about is the manager or the owner).
Edit: Visited 2 times since I left the initial review and thought that I’d give it another try. I got a mocha both times and was great. Maybe the matcha incident was a one time thing and thought I’d leave a...
Read moreI have finally found my new favorite coffee place after spending 6 years in Halifax having mediocre coffee. My husband called me this morning after I finished my workout and said he wants to take me to a surprise place- and surprised I was (in a positive way of course).
The cafe is stunning, the little things matter and the owner (Hamza- please forgive me if I got your name wrong) curated every aspect of the cafe through his visionary architectural lens. I love spaces that have unique architecture and I instantly fell in love with this cafe.
Now I’ve been an avid coffee drinker, I’ve tried coffee in so many different cities so it takes a lot to impress me- the coffee needs to be impeccable and it sure was. Their cappuccino was perhaps one of the best I’ve had outside of Europe. I ordered a chocolate hazelnut mousse cake on the side and it was perfect- not too sweet but just enough to compliment the unsweetened cappuccino. You’ve made a regular out of me and I look forward to doing my regular walk up to your cafe for a delicious cup of...
Read moreI really want to love this coffee shop because it has so much potential. The ambiance is great, the cakes are delicious, and overall, it could easily be a 4- or even 5-star spot. But there’s just one thing that completely ruins it every time, the never ending Taylor Swift playlist.
I don’t mind Taylor Swift in moderation, but this place plays her exclusively, and it’s genuinely unbearable. Even with noise canceling headphones, her music still finds a way to seep through, making it impossible to fully enjoy the experience. It’s not just a one-time thing either. it’s always Taylor, and it’s so draining.
I really wish they’d switch up the playlist, bring in some variety, or at least consider a rotation of different artists and genres. This could be one of my favorite spots , but as long as it’s stuck in a permanent Taylor Swift concert, I don’t think I can keep coming back.
If management sees this… please, change the aux! Your coffee shop deserves a soundtrack as good as...
