Tried here for lunch on a sunny Thursday in September. There is construction going on outside on the street and sidewalk, and it was hard to squeeze around the barricade, etc to get to the restaurant entrance. I donāt mind this at all, but anyone with mobility issues would have major trouble getting in, so Iād recommend calling ahead to check the construction status. Or possibly there is an entrance from the building on the inside? Anyway, the atmosphere in here is nice, modern, big with lots of natural light coming in, seating for maybe 60 or 70 with booths and tables, simple dĆ©cor. Very friendly staff. Food arrived pretty fast, to be manageable for a work lunch. Iāve been to the other Morris East locations many times over the years and the menu is the same. I tried the personal size lemon chicken pizza (aioli, pancetta, goat cheese, arugula, parmesan, lemon confit), which normally comes as a combo with a choice of soup or salad. I didnāt want a side today, so just got the pizza and probably paid the same as getting the side, but thatās ok. It was very good, thin crust, lots of flavor without being too lemony, a tad greasy, but overall decent. My friend got the lumberjack pizza combo (tomato sauce, bacon, sausage, caramelized onion, Applewood cheddar, mozzarella, fried rosemary, maple drizzle) which he was very happy with, for the flavor, portion size, texture, etc. The best part of the experience though was his side of soup. The daily special was cream of potato with bacon. Wow ā I sampled it and found it tasted like a shortbread cookie! He loved it as well, despite mentioning it does taste like potato, with a touch of nutmeg? He would go back and order a large soup as a meal again, and if I wasnāt watching calories, I would too. Definitely will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered one of everything for my wife's surprise birthday party and Morris East did not disappoint. I converted at least half of my friends to thinking this is the best pizza in Halifax. Having been here at least a dozen times I can confidently say it's our go-to date night spot. Each time I go I order something different and I've probably tried the entire menu at this point, and each item seems better than the last. They just don't miss.
My only complaint would be how long it takes for the food to arrive - had a few issues with this being 30+ minutes more than once - but hey, good things take the time they take.
The staff are always super accommodating and having met the owner more than once, it feels like a local, family-run place.
My advice would be to go a bit early (530 or so) and plan to settle in, take your time, and enjoy the evening. Don't order in a rush, let it take the time it takes, get a glass of wine, and take a deep breath. Then when the pizza arrives, thank your lucky stars you took the advice of a random Google review.
10/10, will be a loyal...

Listen, I donāt know what kind of ancient wizardry is happening in the Morris East kitchen, but Iām 97% sure they have a pizza-shaman back there casting spells on the dough. I took one bite, and suddenly, my taxes were done, my skin cleared up, and I remembered where I left my AirPods.
The crust? So crispy and perfect, I heard it whisper sweet nothings as I chewed. The cheese? Melted into a gooey masterpiece that made me reevaluate all my past life decisions. The toppings? Letās just say, if pizza were a love language, Morris East would be Shakespeare.
I blacked out mid-meal and woke up hugging the pizza box, whispering, āI love youā under my breath. If this pizza were a person, Iād marry it. If it ran for office, Iād vote for it twice. If I ever get lost in the woods, I trust that a Morris East delivery driver will find me before the search party does.
In summary: 12/10. Will be back....
