A stunning botanical oasis in the heart of Halifax, this garden offers an impressive variety of tree and flower species, making it a delightful spot for nature lovers. Itโs the perfect place for a leisurely stroll, especially during spring and summer when the plants are in full bloom. With numerous trees and flowers, many of which are clearly labelled, visitors can spend hours exploring and learning about the diverse plant life. The parkโs pathways are mostly gravel, which makes them suitable for strollers, though accessibility for wheelchairs may be a concern. One of the highlights is the large selection of tropical and annual flowers, which adds an unexpected splash of color to the gardens. The thoughtful use of name tags throughout the garden helps enhance the educational experience, making it ideal for plant enthusiasts. In addition to the beautiful greenery, thereโs a charming pond and even a cozy coffee house on the grounds, offering a peaceful place to relax after a walk. The dragon flowers, in particular, stand out for their imaginative appearance, making the garden a truly magical place to visit. Whether youโre a seasoned botanist or just someone looking for a peaceful retreat, this botanical garden offers a rich, immersive experience that will leave you feeling refreshed and inspired. Also there is a cafeteria were we can have snacks and coffee.

If you are seeking a serene experience in the middle of the hustle and bustle this is the perfect place to stop by! Everywhere you look you are surrounded by beauty here. From the tree lined pathways, the flower designs, pond, gazebo or even the water fountain that has been there since Queen Victoria ๐ธ There is so much for the eyes to capture. Kids will love it here too as there are ducks, fish and other critters for them to get excited about here. I do recommend taking the time to read the various signs that explain the rich history of these gardens. There are even signs that explain the various trees and vegetation around the garden too. Street parking can be a bit scarce, but there is underground parking near the main entrance that is relatively inexpensive. We paid $6 for 3 or 4 hours. I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to experience these gardens.

Beautiful garden in full bloom all the time, but horrible stuff!! I was there with my toddler, and he started chasing the ducks. Security stuff came and told me that we were not allowed to do that. And it make sense. After that I was trying to stay away as far from ducks as possible, but they are everywhere. Then my little one was playing with my paper cup, running on the grass. And surely there was a duck. I tried to keep my son away from it, but since he is toddler and couldn't get what he wanted - he threw the cup in the direction of a bird (it still was a a meter away from duck). Obviously all I can do is just react on his actions. I can't predict it. And here from behind our backs I hear: "Oh! And now you are throwing things at ducks!" He was saying something else as well. I felt like I was it jail with a security guard behind me. That was truly unpleasant experience. They should understand that sometimes kids doesn't understand things, and even they don't listen to their parents. Any way I am not planning to there any day soon, and don't recommend you to visit it
