Kofuku Japanese and Thai — Restaurant in Halifax

Great service, food is generic "thai" menu, everything is doused with hot sauce (80% of menu is spicy) that is completely overpowers the flavor of the dish. Chicken was so chewy i thought it was pork. Front door has a step immeditely inside which is a tripping hazard and a building code violation, god help you if you are elderly or a kid. Restaurant decor looks decent but the room is very poorly lit. Due to abundance of wood which absorbs moisture, restaurant smells like a musty motel bar. Bathroom sink has a low, short stem faucet off to one side of already small 8x14" sink, so prepare to slam your hands against the sink wall while washing your hands. Not wheelchair accessible. No parking nearby. I think its made for takeout and the dining floor is an afterthought. 3/5 nothing to...

This is currently my favourite place to eat! The food is amazing and the vibe is perfect, along with a friendly staff. We haven’t had to wait for a seat or very long for our food and it has been exceptional. If you like Sushi or Thai food than this is a must try spot and I’d imagine everything on their menu is super delicious, (although it’s hard not to order the same thing you had last time because you’ll have enjoyed it so much and be craving it), like the best tuna nigiri, the Kofuku signature roll and their tasty brown rice tea. Writing this review makes me want to go there right now and I just finished supper. The ginger beef is also wicked good, as is the sampler appetizer, (especially the beef cakes 🤤)....

Kofuku is one of my favourite restaurants in Halifax. Every time I've been there, service has been so warm and genuine; the food is fresh, delicious and beautiful with high quality ingredients; and the space is always impeccably clean (such a transformation from the old Mary's- it's unrecognizable). Amanda is one of the best servers in the city, and her passion for her family's business is unmistakable. Their sake menu is very well curated - I highly recommend getting a flight. Always check their Instagram for their hidden menu items before you go. If I could give them more stars, I would. Glad to have them in...
