@oneshotparking - I rented a parking spot here for ten days and their system will configure your account by default to enabled reoccurring payments for all following months. A small disclaimer message is displayed when signing up which does not include a check box dialog or confirmation prompt. You would have to zoom and scan the entire page when sitting in your car on your iOS device, etc when registering your car. By chance that you catch the message you'll have to login to your account again and manually disable the reoccurring payments. I caught the charge one day into the next month and requested a refund as I had not taken advantage of the service yet. After emailing their contact five times and calling once (Demanding a response to my emails) over the course of 7 days I finally received a reply that mentioned the disclaimer message but did not answer my question re: my refund request. Mostly just an FYI here for future people looking for parking during the Winter bans, etc. This company's infrastructure is designed to easily take peoples money through automated renewals which leaves people very susceptible to unintended charges and offers " EXTREMELY " poor...
Read moreThe shelter in this place saved my life. Whoever approved the shelter to be in this building is an amazing person. At this point, hundreds or at least a thousand people have been helped in the last year or two just because of the room in the Forum being equipped and large enough to hold so many people feasibly at one time. Been visiting the building since I was a kid for events (concerts, flea markets, hockey games) and I’ve always appreciated the older architecture and the rugged atmosphere that can be found here. The parking lots are both massive and are hardly ever full (only once did I see them full) and that was for the finals of a hockey tournament. There is security always present around the Forum, inside, outside, and sometimes at the entrances), along with surveillance cameras, making it a safe place to be in general. Besides needing a few upgrades/renovations, this whole building should never cease to exist and will always be one of the iconic buildings that everyone associated with Halifax and has fond...

Most of the reviews are for the annex, the building attached to the back of the original Forum that faces Almon street. And are not reflective of the "original building". The Sunday Market, bingo, and other community events are normally held in the annex, the doors that face Windsor Street.
The "ice surface" is really nice easy to navigate. But as soon as you enter the main building, or step off the level ice surface, the floor in the common walkway areas is so incredibly uneven it's dangerous. I'm talking about the hallways sloping at a 90° angle, and included in those slopes there are little mountains and craters everywhere. You could be walking in the hall on an incline that makes your calves burn, and the next step is a foot lower. The ice surface, washrooms, and entryway are the only level and flat surface in the building. BE CAREFUL WALKING! FLAT RUBBER SOLED SHOES OR SNEAKERS ARE YOUR BEST...
