Manchu Wok — Restaurant in Halifax

They had happy hour deal between 2-4pm that comes with a free drink (plus tax). I sat down and had couple of bites when I realized that the amount I was told at the cash is $4 more than the advertised amount. I went back to ask for my receipt and they gave me a receipt from the garbage that is from a different customer because the amount shown is much lower than what I paid for. Then they kept arguing that the amount they charged me is the correct amount thought it does not reflect the happy hour deal that I told them that I would purchase. So, I was not refunded the over charged. Recently stopped by the food court at Halifax Shopping Centre and was delighted by the offerings at Manchu Wok. The combination platter was a satisfying fusion of flavors and textures. The crispy spring roll was golden and flaky. The noodles were perfectly seasoned and offered a comforting base for the dish. The General Tso's chicken was the star, with its sticky, sweet and slightly spicy sauce coating tender chunks of chicken that were crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. So sorry, to write this but I had a terrible experience. The suposedly fried rice was soggy. You could actually see little bubbles of water in it and had no taste. Totally unacceptable for fried rice. The honey garlic chicken was hard, maybe stale. The cabbage & broccoli was just warm. So was the whole plate of food. I was expecting a hot meal. The quality of food at this place has drastically gone down.

I leave this critism to hopefully encourage you to do better Manchu Wok. Food should be served hot and fresh.
