I'd give here 4.5 if it was an option.

Friends invited me to the new Sunday Roast yesterday (June 12 2022) and it was a great first impression of this place! I lucked into street parking right in front. We had reservations, and it turns out that they weren't necessary bc we were the only table occupied for the first half hour or so. I hope that this Roast idea gets busier for the business' sake. I was expecting individual plates of food. A friend was expecting a buffet. What we got was two big platters of food brought to the table, just like a Sunday dinner at home! Food arrived fast, maybebin five minutes? Sliced roast beef, mashed garlic potatoes, roasted carrot chunks, two little gravy boats, fried big potato chunks, six Yorkshire puddings atop a small skillet of roasted, flavored Brussel Sprouts. All of this food was delicious. They perfected the portion amount on the two platters where the three of us were full by the end, with only minimal waste left. All three of us only drank water during the meal and opted out of dessert due to being full. So satisfied.

The atmosphere is nice, British-pub themed I guess. Lots of natural light at the front, very dark as you get to the back. Sturdy wooden tables and big cushioned booth options for larger parties as well. Seating overall for 60 or 70 maybe?

Friendly, straightforward service.

April 2023: I have been back three times for lunch since the above. The veggie curry with naan is a good size and glad I did not get the basmati rice, because I was pretty full without it. Decent flavor, had a quality of the sauce that felt a bit store-bought, but it may not have been. Still tasty and satisfying.

Quinn's Arms. This is one of the nicest English Pubs in terms of ambiance...beautifully appointed and the padded banquettes along the walls are first class. Well thought out menu. The pork belly is crispy and flavourful, I prefer a thicker style but it was still really good. One of my friends ordered the butter chicken with fries and thoroughly enjoyed it but she did find a chicken bone in the dish....at least that indicated the Chef was taking the time to use fresh chicken and not the commercially processed variety. My other friend had the beer battered fish and chips....the fish arrived beautifully cooked...you could tell the chef took time in not cooking the fish and then re-frying because the batter was light in colour and not greasy. I opted for the roast beef on a hoagy bun, I was disappointed as the beef was really salty...so much so that I didn't finish it. I asked for a garlic aoili for dipping my fries and I was served a small container of mayonnaise with a whole lot of garlic in it...I felt the kitchen was making a statement of displeasure at my request. I was surprised as I don't generally have an issue when requesting either Sour cream or garlic aioli. We all shared the banana split and loved the twist of creme Brule topping torched on the bananas...delicious.

I witnessed the bartender retrieving a green bean in a jar for a Caesar, this is a health violation so I hope this is not something she is in the habit of doing...cross contamination could be an issue.

All in all though it is a delightful pub, well thought out menu...newly opened so they are I am certain they are merely working out some things out. I hope they do well.....great addition to...

First experience was last week. We were asked to take the centre table outside to wait to come in. Server was very friendly and offered us a drink menu while we waited. Unfortunately she came back our and told us we were not able to sit in that spot as it was not socially distant from the other two. Fine. No problem. We understood. But why have a table and chairs there that is not able to be used? We were told we could stand and wait. We chose not to and came back the following Friday evening. Again a bit of a wait. But we didn’t mind. Looked busy inside so we decided to eat outside. Again the server was wonderful. The centre table and chairs were still there. Wondering why, but whatever. Service was great! Had the steak sandwich. It was delicious!! A little salty but no complaints, I was craving it. I was expecting the fries to be like The Brown Hound fries, since it is a part of the same business from what I understand. They were good but no comparison. Also the butter chicken vegetable dish was so good!!! Can’t wait to come back and try more menu options. Again our server was so friendly...

It was our first time trying Quinn’s Arms. It has a cozy pub atmosphere and the service was excellent. The pot lights above the tables against the back wall are super bright so it would be great if they could turn those down a notch. We shared the mussels, then ordered wings and fish & chips (sub Caesar salad). The mussels were good, as were the wings which had a light and crispy breading and were cooked perfectly. We loved how they serve the wings with Dave’s sauce and blue cheese dressing. The fish needed salt, it was bland, but the Caesar salad was really good. They mixed arugula with the lettuce and it gave it a nice zip. The coleslaw that comes with the fish is to die for.

We really enjoyed our meal and service at QA. This is a great addition to the Quinpool Road area and will be coming here in the future. The ambiance is darker but cozy. Food quality was excellent but we thought portions were a bit on the small size. We are sure that since this was only their second night open that there will be changes and revisions to the menu (perhaps adding side salad options or a second piece of fish, etc.). Beer selection was good and hoping to see more local brews appear in the future too. We will be back.
