food quality is getting worse, and especially, the chef guy have extremely rude behavior to customers! I DONT CARE if he is the manager or owner or whoever, but treating and talking to the customer with that kind of altitude is VERY DISRESPECTFUL! When we came in, the place was not even crowded, only 2-3 customers inside, and he acted like as if we are wasting his precious time by just looking if our friends have arrived or not. It was only 10 seconds that we just came in and there is no one waiting behind us, but he lost his patience and yelled at us!
we wanted to request an appropriate apologize and give feedback directly to the manager after paying the bills, and you know what she said!? She REFUSED to listen to our feedback and wanted us to leave the restaurant as soon as possible. This is a sign of extreme unprofessional and doesn’t care much about the customer’s experience. We asked who is the manager, and she replied “I am the manager and owner” then leave! Like?!??? Usually the correct action would be asking if there is anything wrong or is there something she can help, but in this case, she tried to avoid us!!! “I am very busy I don’t have time, is it about the food? it is not then I don’t have time for this”, can you believe this?! The place was not even busy and there were only 3 guests! I am speechless and have no words. Truly Tasty used to be way better and food was even way better back then. Now, it is a place that I would NEVER want to go back and feel bad for anyone who come here.
Hope that there will be more reviews like this so they can understand the importance of customer’s experience to improve their service! Cuz seems like right now they feel as if they have such good reputation already, they don’t need the customers anymore to...
Read moreSo the noodle dish was great. Service was eh as there was only 1 server for the restaurant. She never came back to ask how our meal was once delivered. We also ordered pan fried dumplings. One of them was burnt around the edge. No biggie, but we mentioned it. At the end of the meal aswe were packing up our food, (leaving the dumplings behind as we didn't enjoy them) the chef came out with no introduction and aggressively asked 'Which dumpling was burnt?' My partner asked for clarifaction and he repeated 'Which dumpling was burnt?!' My partner pointed it out and he said 'oh that's burnt?' In a very sarcastic tone. He then went back into the kitchen area. We finished packing our food, and as we were leaving, the chef yelled 'Don't come back! Not welcome back here!' We both were like 'What?' Surprised and taken aback at ghe aggressiveness of the chef. He yelled back that we were not welcome back, then yelled at as again.
Wow. I have never had service like that. It was only a passing comment about one burnt dumpling, and we enjoyed the food but never have I been yelled at by a chef and told I was not welcome due to making a small criticism over a burnt peice of food.
Will be passing this experience along to others in warning. I don't even mind the chef coming out , but that attitude was just appalling. As well as the wife, saying to have 'some respect' Respect?? Yelling at paying customers to never come back because they mentioned to the waitreas that a...
Read moreIf you like food then you owe it to yourself to eat here. There is nothing wasted at Truly Tasty an attitude towards food service that i personally find incredibly refreshing. My wife and I were greeted and sat very quickly and after ordering we hardly had time to start a conversation before our food was before us. My wife mentioned afterwards "It's rare that we spend longer to eat than waiting for food to arrive". The staff are efficient and pleasant but thankfully not overbearing like other restaurants can be.
But that's not the point of this review. The food is incredibly delicious and given in generous portion sizes. I wouldn't be surprised if many couldn't finish their serving. The ramen that i had (spicy miso with chashu pork and kimchi) was everything i think good ramen should be. Fatty, sumptuous broth, the miso adding a huge depth of flavour and some thickness, and inside the wonderful handmade noodles. I remarked after that while the chashu pork was excellent I would happily order it again without it. Hell, in winter i would order a cup of the broth to...
