We have patronized Angel’s for about 7-years. If you are looking for good food — this is the place. HOWEVER, we were also expecting to be treated respectfully and courteously!
In helping to support this restaurant and our local community, during the shutdowns, we ordered our food, and ate in the parking lot or at home. We wanted this diner to continue to survive and flourish.
So, what’s my problem? Over the past several years, my husband’s vision has slowly deteriorated. It’s now at the point that he cannot see his food anymore. He is totally dependent on either the kitchen staff or myself to — cut the steak and put jam on the toast…
Herein lies the problem. The wait staff are not allowed to ask the kitchen staff to do anything that will change the look of the plate. So, tired of hearing the same thing time after time — I began jamming hubby’s toast. Then there was an issue getting the kitchen to put the eggs in a small bowl — so hubby could them. Finally, it was the steak that we needed cut.
At one point, I was paying the manager/owner Bonni(sic?) and I mentioned my disappointment, in there policy. He told me that he knows hubby is blind and the next time just tell the waitress.
Could I have jammed, cut??? Yes, but why embarrass hubby, when it could have been done discretely by kitchen staff??? Also, this is a restaurant, so why does a diner require a sighted-companion? Customer focused establishments should be able to respectfully sever ALL- CAPABILITIES! What would happen if he went there alone? This certainly felt like discrimination to us!
We did arrive later than usual, but still had about 45 mins left. Staff (who I won’t name), appeared a bit perturbed.
This time, hubby wanted jammed toast again. Waitress said no — not to even ask. I explained our last visit with steak, hubby was accommodated by the “manager”. She came back and in a very loud voice (very few customers were still there), and said the “manager owner” — it wasn’t clear if it’s two people or one? Said NO… We were so upset by this, that our meal was ruined. In the end, I accidentally forgot to push the tip button… Karma?
As much as we loved eating at Angel’s, we cannot accept their condescending attitude and discrimination against a person with the disability of blindness— a...
Read moreTried again this morning (July 13, 2025) at this place, giving it another chance. Nothing like enjoying your second cup of coffee having rhe owner lurking about trying to stare people down to leave to make two tables available for a couple of people waiting. Intimidation at its finest. I'm done taking my business here whenever I get back to town. I can go elsewhere where I'm not rushed out the door as soon as I'm done eating. Also in response to your response, when the hostess sees an elderly patron with a cane or walker we shouldn't have to point it out. Common sense should prevail as to not add more embarrassment to the senior.
Taking my elderly mother for lunch itbwould have been nice if they didn't seat us way in the far corner when she clearly has mobility issues. Narrow aisle trying to assist her walking with a cane. Hopefully next visit allows more consideration for the patron. Having lived in Georgetown for over 50 years, my family and I were regular patrons of your restaurant. The last visit was the first time we were treated so rudely. Total time spent at your restaurant was 80 minutes. Pardon us while we finished our coffee. Intimidation at its finest and agreed upon by the waitress. Do better. Been a customer since...
Read moreWas in town on Sunday with my son and found this spot for brunch. I’ve been to an Angel’s diner before in Waterdown so decided to give this one a try. We were very happy with our choice. This location has many comfy booths of different sizes. We were warmly greeted and seated at a spacious booth. Angel’s has an extensive lunch and breakfast menu. I chose bfast and my son wanted lunch. My son ordered the Reuben and I had what I think was called the temptation. It had 2 pieces of French toast, 2 eggs, home fries, bacon/sausage and toast. It was huge. And all delicious. My son’s sandwich came with layers of of meat, a generous serving of fries and creamy coleslaw which he tried for the first time and enjoyed it. The coffee was very good and refilled regularly. The prices were also very reasonable especially considering the large portions. Overall I would highly recommend Angel’s. Great food, large portions, reasonable prices and friendly, efficient service in a comfortable setting. If we are ever back in Georgetown I would definitely...
