I'd like to say that this was a enjoyable experience, alas it was not. Order take out (Allo Tikkia, Chicken Tikkia Masala, double order garlic nann) No Flavor, Long Wait, Dirty Restaurant.
After ordering I was told that the order would be good for pick 30 mins after calling @ 6 pm.
First impressions of the restaurant upon arriving, dead quite, only 1 other person waiting on food, not a soul in the restaurant. Dirty, soggy ceiling tiles, dirty travel marks on the floor, and "waiting" booths just shoddy looking.
As stated I placed a phone order just before 6pm on Thursday for the above stated. Arrived 35 mins after the fact to again an empty restaurant, I was greeted as I entered and asked if I was picking up to which I replied yes and recited my order after which I waited and additional 30 mins until my order was complete.
Upon getting my order I was given a Free (complementary) Coca Cola for some reason other than in my mind to calm a potentially irate customer.
Getting home I was enjoying the smell of the food I was about to indulge in. Unfortunately the food was cold, lacked seasoning, the Tikia Masala had 6 small chunks of dark meat chicken and about 1.5 liters of sauce and had no flavor, the nann which was supposed to be garlic had NO flavor, was doughy and the center was not cooked. The Allo again was cold. I ended up microwaving everything to consume it.
What wasn't eaten went in the trash.
All in all this was the first and last time Ill go to this establishment. In two...
Read moreNamaste offers authentic Indian cuisine prepared with care and quality ingredients.
Their butter chicken was rich and flavourful, balanced and creamy, with the tomato base not obscured or overpowered the way many other Indian restaurants do. The aloo gobi was bursting with flavourful spices and was perfectly cooked to the ideal textural blend of soft potato chunks and large, crunchy cauliflower pieces. The naan was crispy and light with the right amount of smokiness. I was pleasantly surprised to find the samosa was one of the best I have ever had: the chunky potatoes inside were not overly dry like I have had in other restaurant samosas, the fried outer shell was not too thick or oily at all, there was a very healthy amount of spice in it, and the tamarind sauce was sweet and tangy but not syrupy-thick or cloyingly sugary.
Service was friendly and fast. Food preparation was fresh and not at all slow. Portions were perfectly sized for sharing between two people, and pricing was very reasonable for the quality of ingredients and quantities served. The spice level in the aloo gobi was milder than I'd hoped for, but the butter chicken was expectedly mild and the samosa had me pleased to be reaching for water. I look forward to returning so I can try more things (including their fish...
Read moreWhat a horrible experience. Went there for a family dinner. It wasn’t busy, we were the only people there. It took one hour for the food to arrive. We were sitting at the empty table waiting. No water, no appetizers to start with. Nothing! Finally the lady brought glasses but no water. The glasses were super DIRTY!! She brought salty lassi and mango shake. Absolutely disgusting!!Tasted like yogurt water and yellow sugar water. We returned it together with the dirty glasses and got bottles of water instead. We felt like to just get up and leave but we were starving and hoped the food would be better. Finally the naans arrived (they were good), rice was room temperature and tandoori fish was ok, we also ordered a few other curry dishes to go with the rice and naan but she forgot about it!! She wrote down the order at the beginning and repeated the order but somehow they never made it. We were soo upset. Told her not to bother anymore. ...
