I love shwarma. I typically go to Pita Town, which is quite good - the service, quality, and prices all are agreeable. But I'd heard good things about Osmow's, so I decided to give it a try.
First, I asked for tap water. They refused. They said that the owners won't allow them to give out tap water - if you want to drink, you have to pay. At any restaurant, this is always an indication that the management doesn't want to take care of its customers (I've actually never been to a restaurant that outright refused; typically the problem is they want to charge you a quarter for it or something chintzy like that). That was a pretty bad start.
But the quality of the food wasn't so hot either. I order one of their big chicken shwarma wraps. I told them what I wanted on it at the register. Mine came drenched in a mayonnaisey garlic sauce - I couldn't taste the meet. They didn't ask if I wanted the sauce. Next, they'd overloaded my wrap so that it was tearing the pita and I couldn't get a proper bite of it. The ingredients had been piled in such a way that I couldn't enjoy a complete bite of them - it was either all tomato or all drenched meat, neither of which is very yummy. The person I ate with had his meat on the rocks, and he said the meat was good. I couldn't taste mine.
Though we told them we were eating in, they didn't give me any plates, containers, or utensils. So as I ate my wrap, it started to leak sauce from the bottom, dripping all over the table. Eventually, the wrap just fell apart. I went and got my own container, and finished it that way.
I won't be going back. I'll stick with Pita Town when I'm wanting...
Read moreI DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! They can't seem to get it right. SO DONE WITH THIS PLACE! I haven't been to this Osmow's in a while. I stopped going cause of the cleanliness of this place and they could never get the order right. There were a couple of times I had a wrap and they were good. However, simple things such as forgetting to put dressing on a salad. Today I figured I would give it a shot as it had been a while. Place was cleaner, but could still be much cleaner. I ordered two chicken dinners, one with hot sauce and one without. I ordered Greek salads for both. Service was quick and everything was bagged and ready to go. Drive 15 mins to get home and open up the bags and to know surprise im disappointed already. Both salads have no dressing and its the first time I have had the Greek, where its comes with massive cubed green peppers. The lady that was putting the salad together asked me if I wanted onion and I said no onion on one. Sure enough onion. Open up the chicken containers, no hot sauce or tahini. Chicken is charred and over cooked. Again, very disappointed at this place so I call and explained and he tells me to drive back and he will put hot sauce on. As if im going to drive back 15 mins to get hot sauce put on charred chicken and salads are messed up too. So done with this place. Over priced for the disappointment you receive each time. They just can't...
Read moreThe food here is good but their service is terrible. They use Skip the Dishes and blame any mistakes/issues on them and won't take responsibility for the customer being satisfied. First time, they missed delivering half our order and we had to argue with them to be able to go and pick up the other half ourselves even though they claim to have seen the Skip the Dishes guy leave with only half our meal. Why not try to stop him and bring him other half in the parking lot?
Second time, the meal they packed was ruined by a drink running all over the food even though the bottle was clearly broken. Again, they blamed Skip the Dishes and hung up on us. We had to get our money back from Skip the Dishes, then re-order and so on, an hour and a half later we got our meal.
Easy to blame Skip the Dishes but we use them for all other places in Georgetown and never have an issue with them. One time, another restaurant forgot to add one item but took responsibility and fixed the issue themselves, not pass us off to Skip the Dishes. I think if it's your restaurant, the customers belong to you and it is your job to ensure customers are left satisfied.
We involved the manager both times to no avail. As a result, I will be driving to Milton for my next Osmow's meal. Like the food but can't stand the staff's attitude and lack of commitment to...
