Ace Family Restaurant/Lounge — Restaurant in Hamilton

Today was father's day and I came in an hour and a half before my shift. Right away the waitress was short and rude. I myself am a waitress so I try to keep things into consideration. I asked for fried onions added to my hash browns because it was an option on the menu and she said no it's father's day it will take too long which kind of set me back. After 45 mins of waiting I asked her how much longer because I was going to be late for work and she snapped on us saying it was father's day and my dad's response was like ok we don't care she should have let us know there was a 45 min wait for eggs and hash browns otherwise we would have gone somewhere else. Or she could have checked in with us and let us know the status of our meal. Or been a little apologetic because I was very nice about it . As soon as my dad said he didn't care in response to her snapping .. she kicked us out and told us not to come back. I have never been treated like this ever in my life and as I was waiting for the meal 3 tables got their food and paid after us and I could hear her being short with the other patrons. My dad has been coming to aces for 30 years and to be kicked out on father's day when we were nothing but polite is disgusting. We won't be back and she should find a different career in life because I again am in the same industry and she was rude and impatient and ruined my father's day with my dad. She...

It was interesting my wife and I had too seat ourselves, and for a restaurant I find that doesn't set a good sign. I was glad that the bar side and restaurant side were separated from each other but, the decor and colours of the room did make it feel like a funeral home. Now the food was off in my opinion I had the fajita, My wife the spaghetti with meatballs, for an appetizer potato skins.

Good and tasty were a bit greasy because of the bacon bits but were really good none the less.

Chicken Fajita 2/5

The fajita was very bland with no flavour to it, the bottom of the wrap was soggy and dripping with grease, there were too many onions and not enough chicken inside. I couldn't eat the other half of it. I would suggest add some spices too the chicken and reduce the amount of onions and drain any grease before placing it in the wrap.

Spaghetti and meat balls 4/5

With a spaghetti that my wife had she said the food was dull looking with lack of colours, but the meat balls were good though they were very crumbly.

Service is alright, food is decent. My serve didn't state that when asking to add cheese to your meal it would be processed cheese for $1.00 instead of regular cheese. When I brought it to her attention about 10 minutes after getting our food I could hear the cooks says why would someone expect real cheese for $1 on their omelette. The other server said to us "I always ask real or fake if adding extra cheese and that defines the difference in service" if it wasn't for her I would be giving a lower review. When at a breakfast place people will assume cheese is real and not cheaping out on the fake stuff. Our waitress said it's just cheese, no it's not just cheese fake cheese ruins the taste of a good meal as real cheese adds to the taste.
