Alexandros Take Out — Restaurant in Hamilton

I would just like to thank Alexandros Restaurant on Upper James for ruining our dinner tonight. I placed an order at 4:49pm through Door Dash, as I have done many times, for pick up between 5:35pm and 5:45pm. Not delivery, but pick up, so that they wouldn't have to pay any service fees.

At 4:54pm, I get confirmation from the restaurant that it is ready for pick up. I called the restaurant, to let them know that an error has been made and that I'm not supposed to pick my order yet. I thought that maybe they would apologize and offer to remake it closer to my scheduled pick up time.

Instead, the lady that answered the phone blamed Door Dash for forcing them to confirm the order and then proceeded to yell at me when I said that I'm not picking up cold food. An employee in the background even confirmed that my order was for pick up at 5:45pm. The lady told me it was my problem and that I have to call Door Dash before rudely hanging up on me before I could say anything.

I have ordered from them many times and thought that their food was really good, but this was not the friendly customer service that people talk about. I will not be going back and will no longer recommend them to anyone. Go to Ios in the same plaza instead, their food is really good and their staff is friendlier.

I really hope that it wasn't a manager or owner that I spoke to, because that type of behaviour was...

I used Alexandros to cater lunch for a bridal shower this weekend and it was such a great choice! Will go through my experience below but for context we were feeding around 70 people for lunch and ordered for around 35 people and had some to spare.

Food - The food was delicious and there was plenty for everyone! The food was nicely packaged and arrived most importantly arrived hot. The salad had a ton of toppings, and both the chicken and gyro were super flavourful. My personal favourite was the gyro and Tzatziki. I lost count of how many times I was asked where the food was catered from during the event - everyone loved it!

Service - I called at least 10 different restaurants in the area getting quotes for catering. Not to say other restaurants weren't nice, but the lady I spoke with at Alexandros was by far the easiest to work with - I believe her name was Awas. She helped me sort out exactly what I needed, was accommodating for all my requests and had great constant communication throughout the process up until the delivery.

Overall, I had a great experience with this restaurant! Would highly recommend them for catering but also food is great if you are just looking to a good great...

We ordered a family meal for 10 that we could use on New Year's Day. After a conversation, the owner insisted that I make the pick up on NY Day so that the food would be hot and freshest. I was willing to pick up the day prior and reheat, but they wanted to ensure the best meal possible and went out of their way to be available on the holiday. We received large trays of rice w/ vegetables, potatoes and salad. Smaller trays held the chicken souvlaki and fresh pita bread. They also included two large containers of tzaziki and an additional container of salad dressing. The salad was crisp and fresh, no soggy cucumbers or wilted lettuce. The potatoes were some of the best "greek style" we've ever had. The chicken was nicely grilled, cooked through and still tender.

This was my first visit to Alexandros and can guarantee, it won't be my last. I am looking forward to trying the donair and gyro soon.
