Dundas Shawarma & Grill — Restaurant in Hamilton

The girlfriend and I went for dinner here as we were extremely hungry. We ordered our food and during the ordering process she told us I needed to tell her all the ingredients up front before paying. I mentioned that I like to build the sandwich as they're making it she told me absolutely not I need to know the ingredients now to write them down. We specified on 3 ingredients to put inside the wrap at the end she loaded a lake full of garlic sauce and then close it without hot sauce and when we ask does that have hot sauce she goes what you didn't ask. We replied that we didn't actually order any sauce and we told her the only 3 ingredients that we wanted on it. The lady then told us that it was our problem because we didn't explain ourselves properly. We went to the car and the girlfriend was extremely disappointed with their food. I went back inside and asked him to remake it. The gentleman was kind enough to remake it he did it very fast and didn't seem to be very happy about it. I apologized and I told them my girlfriend does not like confrontation but it's not fair that she had to eat something she didn't order. All in all from someone that actually works in customer service industry it was just very frustrating. I've never had a food place to tell us about all the rules that are inside their food place after ordering the food. At the end of the day I got the feeling from this place is to order as it is if don't like it...

Just tried this place for the first time today. My wife had chicken rice & I had poutine,opened takeout container & was half full!! Have to say food was very good but the cook was NOT wearing gloves of any kind & no I don't need glasses!!! Thats a no no when working in that environment, It's the law!! With that being said put some sanitary gloves on & Top up your containers & I would recommend This place to anyone.

Response to your Response!! Obviously you can't handle any constructive Criticism or tell the truth! I was reading all your reviews & responses and came across your Response regarding gloves.....WE NEVER OR WILL NEVER WORK BARE HANDED #1 RULE. So you don't even follow your own rules!! The gentleman working (I assume yourself?)tuched everything from money,counters cash register as well as food without washing his hands & that is cross contamination.so maybe you need to go back and do some reading yourself?? There is no need to respond as I'm not having a contest with you in fact I just wanted to let you know that you should stand up and take accountability for what you say!! Character & Respect mean alot when running a business, Without it a business won't succeed.

Went in for shawarma after the bar, the place looked dated and dilapidated but with reviews over 4 stars we thought the food would make up for it. We got the Saturday special two beef platters for $20 but it was more than stated on their website so was 27.99 instead. The the beef was stone cold and the rice was not cooked and hurt as we tried to eat it as it was still hard. Ended up throwing 85% of the meal out because I was just disgusted by it. My group of 4 left but my brother couldn’t help but tell the server about the bad quality of food, to help him out, he was friendly when we arrived. However when confronted he immediately said something odd, “I don’t even like this business” and “the rice is fine I gave all of you the rice from the middle. He offered to give him his to tasty to confirm how uncooked/dry the rice was but he did not taste it. My brother asked for a dessert to make up for our experience which he agreed to but the damaged has been done. Dont bother going here or coming late because the employees don’t care and are just going through...
