We came here after a long day of hiking, craving laksa and something fresh. We shared a green papaya salad, then had laksa and pad kee mao as mains. The salad was really good. Well balanced, fresh, delicious. The laksa was very good as well. I go out of my way to find good vegetarian laksa, and this one came quite close in quality to the vegetarian laksa I used to get at Marina Square back home in Singapore. The soup itself was very fragrant, and I liked the addition of cucumber and mint (I had never had that before). My friend says that their pad kee mao was also good. I found the prices quite reasonable as well. The staff was very friendly in refilling our glasses regularly (we were a bit dehydrated after hiking in the heat all day), and in notifying us well in advance about when the kitchen would close, checking in with us just before it did to see if we wanted anything else. We were super stuffed, tho. Next time I will try to save room for the pisang goreng or mango sticky rice. Will for sure return next time we travel to Hamilton, looking forward to trying the rendang.

Heard about this restaurant through my sister. Her family has eaten here as my nephew is vegan. Since my first visit I've been several other times for dinner and they are absolutely amazing. This Dundas restaurant is cozy with authentic Thai artwork adorning the walls. You are immediately greeted by the servers and made to feel at home. Now the food..., let me tell you for a vegan restaurant the food is amazing! Fresh, flavorful well seasoned meals. You won't even realize the dishes are vegan because of the robust, flavors, colours and textures in each dish. I highly recommend trying the golden curry, corn fritters, pinapple fried rice, and coconut sticky rice with mango for dessert. They have so many wonderful dishes, but these are our favs. We recently celebrated my father's 80th birthday here, and it was the perfect spot for a small intimate family dinner for the 9 of us. Shoutout to the staff for taking care of us, and making my Dad's 80th a memorable one. If you are looking for delicious authentic Thai vegan food, then you definitely need to give this place a try.

Matsuri Sushi is hands down, the best Sushi restaurant in Hamilton, and perhaps even the GTA. The level of quality that goes into each and every dish made by Master Chef Simon Wong is unparalleled by even some of the most expensive restaurants I've been to. An absolute hidden gem. This is the type of restaurant you always hear about in faraway lands, but right in your own backyard.

Let me start off with the rice. The rice that Matsuri uses is amazing. It is absolutely full of flavour and you can tell that Simon has mastered his craft. I never thought I would say this about rice, but I'm pretty sure I could eat a bowl of this rice by itself - it's just that good. One thing that I've learned is that this restaurant does NOT compromise quality. Each bag of rice is well over a hundred dollars. You get what you pay for.

Now that I've gotten the rice out of the way, I can say that each and every dish that I've had a chance to enjoy at this establishment has been a wonderful experience. They are generous with their portion size. The Tuna in Ponzu Sauce MELTS in your mouth. The Uni is so fresh here, I've never tasted anything this fresh. The chef and waitress will be able to tell you if it is available or not. The Alaskan King Crab is also a must try if in season, usually you'll have to place a pre-order in advance. I've uploaded a few photos to just show how amazing this food really is.

The service is also absolutely wonderful. Kennis the lady who is always there will provide you her recommendations on what is freshest today. What I appreciate is that they will tell you if a dish is fresh, and if it's not, they will advise you on trying something else. I also asked them which of these two dishes (same fish, different format) I should order, one was more expensive than the other, and they gave me an honest recommendation that did not involve spending more money. That's just great, I love it.

So in summary, what may seem like an unsuspecting restaurant in Hamilton, lies a true gem. Something that I will brag to all my friends and family about. Matsuri has definitely won my...

Today I was delighted to discover Little Asia in the east end of the town of Dundas. Ordered take-out for this evening (Jan 7).

What a treat! Note that we’re NOT vegetarians. I’m a really good home-cook, and when we visit a restaurant, I’m often quite disappointed. Not here! A family-owned restaurant – our strong preference. Clean and attractive inside. The owner, Vone, and her son, Nick, are warm, thoughtful and genuine.

We ordered 2 mains, 2 apps, and a sticky rice. It was plenty for 2 adults with some leftovers for a lunch. Or just enough for 2 teens!

Everything was delicious. Freshly made. Perfectly seasoned – there was some heat, but it was subtle. My husband doesn’t like as much heat as I do, and yet, he thought it was perfect. Me, too. Nothing was salty.

Sauces were just right, too. The stir-fried glass noodles were so tasty and light. What especially surprised me were the vegetables – definitely made from fresh. Vone told me earlier that she buys fresh veg every morning. There was a nice variety of them and they were perfectly crisp-tender even though I’d reheated it all for a bit in the oven on our arrival home.

Several reviewers have said that even though the dishes are vegetarian, that they are satisfying. Very true! Yet not heavy, not greasy.

We parked on the street right in front of the restaurant. Ordering online was easy to do, though at the end, I ran into a small issue as my online order was being submitted. A few minutes later, however, Vone called me to apologize over that little glitch and she confirmed the order.

Very reasonable prices for the quality of the dishes.

We will return again and again. Thanks to all at Little Asia. Helen and Ed...

We have been to Matsuri quite a few times over the last few years. For us, the experiences there are always memorable, whether it's just the 2 of us or with friends. Top sushi in a relaxed atmosphere with some local jazz in the background. The quality of the ingredients, level of skill in their preparation and presentation is as good as it gets. And this achieved by a single chef, Simon Wong along with a small serving crew which also includes his hospitable wife. We love good quality sushi, and from where we live there are a couple of really nice options in TO as well. But the majority of the time we still drive to Matsuri all the way from Mississauga. Matsuri opened our eyes as what top quality sushi can be, and ever since then that level has not changed. Sitting at the sushi bar, over the years we have come to know the chef personally and have developed a lot of respect for the man behind Matsuri. He is an amazing person, and his attention to detail and integrity as a human being is reflected in his craft as a chef where - coupled with his skill and vision - food of the highest caliber is available to those who seek it. We highly recommend Matsuri to anyone looking for great sushi; just sit down at the bar and ask the chef to create something for you (if you are adventurous and are not on a tight budget). Deep flavoured smooth uni, albacore tuna in chef's signature ponzu sauce, alaskan king crab cucumber rolls, betty roll, nato hand roll, melt in your mouth butterfish nigiri and blue fin tuna are some of the unforgettable dishes we had there, plus many many more (like hokkaido scallops, small wutan shrimp, albacore tuna belly, ... sinfully...
