I would of given it a 1 star on service alone, but it's not fair to judge the food in the same light. My husband and I ordered dinner from here this evening. We just recently moved to Stoney Creek and we decided to try out a new place. We ordered at 6:45pm and the woman on the phone said it would take approx. 50min. Ok....I can wait 50 min. 8:20pm rolls around and I call asking the ETA on my food. She says the driver is 10-15 away. What?!?! What happened to approx. 50 min? Why is it taking almost 2 hours for my food to arrive. I could of made my own Chinese food in that time frame. The woman calls back and says she can give me 10% off my order....whatever. A few dollars isn't going to win me over at this point. So 10 min later, my food arrives! Hallajeah. Oh but wait, they charged me the $5 delivery fee even though I ordered over $35 worth of food and it specifies on the flyer, it's free delivery! At this point, I'm fuming. Not only did she not give me a total on the phone, she throws in this delivery charge. We paid the delivery driver and he left. She calls back, says she will ask the delivery driver to refund our $5, does he come back with it? Nope! She calls back yet again and says she will give me a 20% discount on my next order. You have got to be kidding me? Why in the world would I want to order from here again. My food was just "warm". The rice was cool at best. The warmest in our order was the chicken. The portions are SMALL! For the price, you would think you would get a decent amount. The Cantonese chow mien? Where's the freaking noodles? Lots of "extra" space in the container and good for 1 meal and a half at best. $50 dollars for Chinese food that took about 2 hours? I will not be ordering from here again. The food was nothing special. Wontons were completely mush and the flavour was "meh". I want my $5 dollars back. Actually, I want all my money back....

I just moved here so I had to find a new Chinese restaurant to order from. I had 6 guests come over so I opted to order food as to not be overwhelmed with cooking. So I found this restaurant that was the closest to my house and ordered all of our usual favorites dishes and hoped for the best. My guests and I were pretty underwhelmed and I wouldn't order from here again.

For ease of reading I'll rate each dish that we ordered and ate.

Sweet Sour Chicken balls - It was good, basically your typical chicken balls that you can get from any other Chinese restaurant.

Beef Broccoli - It is what to expected but portions are too small.

General Tso Chicken - Once our teeth got past the VERY tough fried outer breading you are then met with VERY chewy chicken inside. It tasted like breaded chicken that was fried a day before and then re-fried the next day for a little too long. Too hard to eat.

Orange chicken - Same as the general tso's. Very hard and very tough. Tasted like re-fried chicken. Also too hard to eat.

Honey Garlic Chicken wings - Very VERY soggy. The breading was falling off the meat. Extremely sweet and literally dripping with sauce. I couldn't eat it.

Black pepper beef - There was more sauce than anything. A couple pieces of beef and lots of onions drowning in a bowl of watery sauce. Taste was okay.

Shanghai lo mein - Really good and spicy. I would eat it again.

Chicken lo mein - Tasteless

Chicken fried rice - Decent but...

I order from here quite often. Today I ordered almost $150 and the order was two bags put into a box. I pulled out the bags and the two soups had been crushed and soaked both bags and the food flew EVERYWHERE. I have never once complained in the 4 years we have ordered from here and I wasn’t upset as I know things happen. I called to tell them the situation since everyone was very hungry I drove to go pick up the new order. They misunderstood what I said and only remade the soup. She told me it will be about 15 minutes for a new order and I said no problem I will wait in my car. 5 minutes later she came out and told me the driver told her the order was perfectly fine…so basically I am a liar. I explained the two bags were in a box so how did the driver see the condition of the bags? She asked if I could go home and bring back the food ( which I already explained was literally spread across my floor, sauce and all). I told her forget it we won’t be ordering EVER again, and I called and ordered pizza on the way home. I understand there are dishonest people in this world but we have ordered very regularly in the past four years and NEVER once complained. I’m disgusted with how I was treated and that I paid $150 and the only thing that didn’t go in the garbage was a container of ribs. You’ve definitely lost one of...

I recently had the pleasure of eating at East Place, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The food was outstanding, and the service matched it. Our waitress was polite, and prepared a wonderful Long Island Iced Tea for me along with a lovely Caesar for my wife. Food (The Great): Every dish we ordered was made perfectly. I enjoyed the dumpling soup while my wife had the egg drop soup, and both were full of flavor. We also tried the special fried rice, dry garlic ribs, egg rolls, spring rolls, chicken balls, and BBQ pork, and we loved everything we sampled. Even the leftovers held up beautifully the next day. Atmosphere (The Good): The décor has a slightly dated feel, but in the most charming way; it adds character and warmth to the restaurant. Everything looked well-kept and inviting (photos included). The background music was soft and pleasant, adding to the atmosphere without ever distracting from our conversation. Overall: East Place delivered exceptional food, great drinks, and welcoming service. With every dish hitting the mark and an atmosphere that felt both comfortable and classic, it was an excellent dining experience. I would gladly return and highly recommend it.

A friend invited me out to this fantastic spot for Chinese food, and it has so many great things going for it! The staff is incredibly friendly, and Manager Tammy deserves a special mention for her attentiveness. She went above and beyond to serve our table of 11 with exceptional care, making our dining experience smooth and enjoyable. The restaurant is clean, tidy, and inviting, with spotless washrooms. They also cater to big parties, which makes it a great spot for gatherings. Plus, they offer free parking. That’s a big bonus. They have a selection of alcohol and wine to complement your meal. As for the food, there were some real highlights. The spring rolls were absolutely delicious and my favorite part of the meal! However, the chicken balls had a bit too much batter compared to chicken, and the beef and broccoli dish could use a little more beef. Additionally, the food was a touch salty for my taste. Despite these minor issues, East Place has so much potential and delivers in so many areas. With a few tweaks to the food, it would be an easy 5-star rating for me. I’ll definitely be back. Will sure recommend you giving this little gem a try. You won’t be disappointed. 😁

Stopped in for hot and sour soup and fried wonton chips. The order quickly arrived to my secluded booth while I was totally lost in my surroundings, which appeared to have been untouched by the passing of time. The decor is heavy and warm from the red carpet to the gold wallpaper and despite being nearly 40 years old has kept surprisingly well. I was the only patron seated in the large dining area, but a steady stream of takeout orders moved in and out of the lobby. Other than the constant ringing of the telephone, the place was filled with smooth Asian instrumentals and the humming of the lights overhead. The food was very authentic and thoroughly delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good Chinese food and to time travellers looking for a place to quietly reflect on the past.
