Gong Cha (Mcmaster) — Restaurant in Hamilton

Visited last night with my friends. We happened to walk in at the same time as another group but that didn’t change anything! The employee working was still happy to serve us and she was very welcoming as well. She recommended the honey grapefruit green tea and I honestly loved it! Tangy and sweet definitely cannot be beat! Especially for someone like me who enjoys a refreshing fruit tea that isn’t too sweet. The coconut jelly she recommended I add made the perfect combination and added perfect balance too!

My friends ended up grabbing a qq passionfruit, one got a lychee oolong with the white jellies as well as a peach green with just coconut jelly. One of the drinks the group after us ordered looked really cool too but I forgot what the employee had called out. But it was layered and look awesome! Never coming back. I paid for a large hot drink and they gave it to me in a regular size cup. When I asked why they said the ice took up a large chunk and that was the right size. That's utterly ridiculous, my drink originally doesn't have ice, its a hot drink. Where does the displacement from ice come from? What, if I bought a regular size you would only fill it halfway? No other bubble tea shop I've been to has done this, places like Cocos and Chatime give me a large size filled to the top even if I ask for no ice or hot drink. And the tea was way too sweet, even at lowest sugar level, I felt sick drinking it. Hot drink was also decidedly not hot, but lukewarm. Yep first and last time going to a Gongcha. Awful bubble waffle!!! 👎👎👎 I was very disappointed after I ordered the bubble waffle. The employee was nice, and she offered to redo the waffles, but it was still no good at all. The employee told me the machine getting build up that’s why the bubble waffle won’t be good no matter how many time trying.

The reason why I am so disappointed is I went to the downtown Hamilton James street location, I have been getting good bubble waffles from that location.
