Kohinoor Bistro did not match the expectations set by its name. The term Bistro typically suggests a more refined or unique dining experience, but this was a casual Indian restaurant with nothing particularly distinctive about it.
The food was average in taste, and the portion sizes were disappointing. We ordered Kohinoor Paneer Handi, expecting something special, but it was neither exceptional in flavor nor quantity. The portion was not sufficient for two. Along with it, we ordered Tandoori Roti, Naan, and Mumbai Tava Pulao.
The service was decent, with the server trying her best to manage everything alone. However, one reserved table seemed to have pre-ordered, as they received their food withing minutes, even though we arrived first.
Additionally, I noticed that none of the restaurant staff, including the chef and server, were wearing hairnets, which raises hygiene concerns. Given the restaurant’s 4.9-star rating on Google, I had higher expectations. Overall, I would rate it 2 stars. I might have given it 3 if the name aligned better with the...
Read more*Honestly I didn't get the chance to taste food. You wonder why? Right, ....read below. Recently visited this bistro, based on its glowing reviews🤣, but my experience was a major 🥲letdown. As soon as I walked in, I was excited to try their food, but I had to use the loo first, and when I went to use the Restroom...oh boy.🤢....The restrooms were disgusting🤮, and I mean that in the strongest possible terms. Imagine the worst in any way possible. The state of the facilities was so off-putting that I didn't even bother to order anything. I left within the first minute, 🤧and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone until they seriously revamp their cleanliness standards. The reviews must have been from a different era or something. Unless they address this major issue, I'd advise others to steer clear. If Restrooms are like this that you can't even lock the door 🤯and breathe and wash your hands in the sink, imagine the kitchen they cook in... it's like inviting the sickness in your body.🥴 Cleanliness...
Read moreVery delicious food. I especially liked the Paneer Lababdar curry and the cheese naan (paneer cheese melts well inside the naan!). Everything else was also done to perfection: Samosa Chaat (crumbled samosa with chickpeas covered in tasty spices and some tangy yogurt), Goya Fish Curry, and Mango Lassi (with seasoned crumbled pistachio pieces on top - perfect consistency, not too thin). My only hangups for my dine-in experience were the decor not really feeling like an Indian restaurant and the bathrooms being quite low on toilet paper with no backup roll (and a random futon in the basement hallway connected to washrooms). But that's quite minor compared to the excellent food and the lovely couple that run...
